08/08/07: “The Great British Getaway”

Trin myself and our eight year old son have just returned from holiday in The Lake District where we encountered a few interesting experiences at the hands of the “matrix” which felt appropriate to share in our journal. Its about the importance of staying centred especially at highly turbulent times such as the “Great British Getaway”...

Firstly we found it interesting that the universe would cause us to go on holiday at a time when it seemed everyone else was doing the same. Since our lives are very flexible and we home educate our son, why on earth would we go at one of the peak busiest times? Clearly the universe had some unforeseen “lessons” in mind.

As a family we love camping but not so much on organised camp sites. Rather we tend to just go with the flow and find a secluded spot where we can dissolve into the beauties of unspoilt mother nature (“are there any left?” I frequently find myself asking).

If you’re ‘going on spec’ and just seeing what wants to show up, it pays to be really still inside with no hurry or particular agenda. The approach normally works for us and so on the first night, having carried our backpacks a couple of miles, delicately weaved through several brambly thickets, scaled the odd gate and crossed a gently meandering stream on a fallen tree stump, we located a wonderful site on the shores of Bassenthwaite lake.

It was truly stunning and wonderfully secluded. Having erected our “basher” - a lightweight shelter - we enjoyed ourselves swimming, cooking and generally chilling out. Snuggling up that night under the stars was truly cosy and heart warming.

Everything was hunky dory except that is in the middle of the night we were awoken by the shouting of a drunken bunch of yobs (no not a judgement, I’m pretty sure a discernment!). Fortunately they didn’t get too close to our site but clearly they were in the vicinity of our parked car. Judgements aside hopefully, none of us was greatly surprised the next day when we found the drivers side window had been smashed in.

Suprisingly nothing was taken - perhaps they were disturbed by the team of angels I had stood sentry! So it could have been a lot worse and yet the energy of the site itself was still pretty uncomfortable and clearly you have to work to dissolve any tension that may arise within which really doesn’t serve anything.

So any negative energy from the event was grounded with the help of a near by tree - if you haven’t tried it, simply ask the tree if it wouldn’t mind taking the energy and channelling it down through its roots and into the earth where upon it is ‘transmuted’ - decomposed so to speak. Its a great way of cleansing the surrounding field.

So what to do now? Our concern was that it might not be straightforward finding a window for our 13 year old Peugeot 205 not to mention we only had limited funds available for the trip. But we’ve learned to trust the universe over the years knowing that if we stayed centred and calm, the right action would be clear.

So we stilled ourselves and waited for the best course of action to arise. In response we were guided on a miraculous mystery tour of chance meetings and encounters which saw us inside 1 hour locate a little scrap car dump in the back of beyond which just happened to have amongst its measly collection of half a dozen cars a drivers side window for a 13 year old Peugeot 205! Better still it cost only £35 to buy and and fit - probably a fraction of the price of a new one and much better for mother earth to boot. We felt truly blessed.

So what did we learn from all this? Firstly perhaps to find more secure places to park our car! Secondly if possible to avoid the “Great British Getaway” but most importantly, when we flow as one with the energy of the universe and really trust, we can be sure we will be guided: firstly on a pathway that reveals our distortions - will we flap? will we loose trust? will we allow programmed agendas to dictate to us? Secondly we’ll get exactly what we need to express who we are - potentially we might have headed to the nearest “Autoglass” and paid an arm and a leg, but instead we were given the opportunity to recycle and in so doing, we felt really great about life and its miraculous ability to shape events.

All in all it was a great lesson in the importance of staying centred especially when the energy of the matrix is working against us.

If you’re on holiday or just going, may you have a great one!

Another bountiful adventure

Nice one Chris Smiling It was indeed yet another bountiful adventure.

Without an agenda or plan, never quite knowing where the 'pull' will take us we've found some of the most stunning scenic locations during our trips.

Waking up to the breathtaking scenery of miles around on mountain tops, lakes, oceans and other wilderness. There's nothing more wonderful than bathing in a fresh lake or mountain stream, falling asleep to the twinkling starlight overhead and foraging for wild plant food to add to our cuisine. The local wildlife tend to become accustomed to our presence and entertain us with their curiosity.

Warmly
Trin
