19/12/09: "Hopenhagen failure, a blessing in disguise..."

The world needs something much more powerful than hope
So world leaders have come and gone at the world climate change summit in Copenhangen, dubbed by some "Hopenhagen". And what will history record happened? Well, a toothless, watered down deal was brokered that does nothing. After Arnie promised to save the world, Clinton promised bundles of cash (from who knows where) and world leaders traded insults between the negotiations, what are we left with? Well for me, I'm actually positively encouraged by it. Sound strange? For me, the worst possible outcome would be some kind of luke warm deal that promised a mediocre cut in emissions which meant everyone would keep on consuming happily ever after and feel good about themselves in the process. A mirror is very clearly being shown for all to see. What is it saying?...

Speaking from the heart
Those who know me know I speak direct from the heart. I don't deal in scientifically verifiable numbers. I'm not here to get in any kind of argument with climate change denyers. I make it my purpose to be connected to the highest realms of consciousness and always come from that place.

Of course I'm not claiming I speak absolute truth, but at least it is MY truth according to my highest self. It is not reported, researched or pontificated. It is as I feel it. And neither am I trying to persuade anyone of anything. I just simply feel given to share. So make of it what you will...

What I feel is that the worst thing that could have come from the Copenhagen summit is the old 'mist and smoke two step', that which so many world leaders seem adept at. You know the ones, a deal that looks good on the surface, can send everyone away with a smile on their face and life can go on as normal.

The status quo is unsustainable
Except life cannot keep going on as normal. The current status quo is unsustainable. I believe the summit was aiming for an emission cut around 17%. To me however, this is just a case of far too little, far too late. It is like trying to lightly tip the rudder on the Titanic as it steams full speed towards the Ice Berg.

A few years ago, we still had an opportunity to prevent global heating. Had we have reduced emissions to about the levels prior to the Industrial Revolution (which would have meant 90% cuts in emissions) then we would have had a good chance to prevent a kick-start taking Gaia into a period of higher planetary temperatures.

We shouldn't be hard on ourselves though. The chances were always going to be slim. Trying to get developed nations to turn their backs on their new found toy 'Industrial Consumerism' was always going to be hard, not to mention the upcoming developing nations... "Why shouldn't we have the cars and the gadgets and the 'comfort' too?"

Tipping points tipping
The result (as I'm feeling it) is that we're now rapidly steaming towards various global 'tipping points'. No matter what we do, we're not going to avoid those. Gaia tells me she IS going to heat up between 4-6 Centigrade.

Now of course that's going to mean sweeping change to the way we all live. Society as it currently stands will simply not survive. In just a few short decades, vast swathes of land will become uninhabitable. Food, water and essential resources will rapidly dwindle. There will be enormous population migration to cooler wetter climates.

Of course some will see this as catastrophic. An Armageddon type scenario, but is there not a truly positive way of looking at it?

Taking the positive view
Of course there is!!! Just take a look for a moment at the farce that was Copenhagen. Our world government is literally bankrupt and I don't just mean financially. To me, it is (generally speaking), morally and spiritually bankrupt too.

You see, even the best climate deal would still be about "how can business go on as normal?" "How can we find a sustainable solution that helps us keep on consuming, plundering and raping Mother Earth and her natural eco-systems?" It has never been about tuning into our hearts and really feeling what is just and equitable - for ALL life.

Well now, I feel Gaia's destiny has been taken out of our hands. It never really was ours to own in the first place. She is a highly evolved sentient being in her own right. She's been extremely compassionate and understanding with us. She's been waiting patiently at the station for us to get on board. Two destiny's were possible. Now there's only one.

Global Heating
I feel global heating will be the solution to our most intractable problems that we're witnessing around us. We're going to see in no uncertain terms, writing on the wall for all to understand. We simply cannot ride rough-shod over other conscious life. We are all one. Such inequity will always resolve itself out. The universe will always find a way of balancing the equation.

Higher harmony will be restored, but we are certainly going to have to pass through a good deal of chaos to get there. It's not the path I would have necessarily chosen for us, but it seems that's the one we're now embarked upon.

The beauty will be that the consequences of living out of harmony with the universe will deliver direct, irrefutable truth for those prepared to open their hearts and feel it.

Remarkable times
The future will be remarkable. No half-baked hopenhagen fudges. It will be very real. Unavoidable. It's going to ask us in no uncertain terms "who are you really? what do you stand for? what makes your clock tick? what would you die for? what would you live for?"

In our times, that which has been traded as truth will be trodden in the dust. The highest spiritual truth will become the new reality. Finding our eternal nature by going within and reconnecting with our soul. Walking the path of compassion for all life. Receiving energy and giving back the same amount of energy. Taking only what is given.

So the train is sitting in the station and the whistle is blowing. The one to "Hopenhagen" got derailed. The last one remaining is to a place called "Reality". Are you ready to jump on board?

Chris

reality

Amen to that Chris. I'll buy a ticket to Reality - just hope the train isn't run by Eurostar!

Avatar

I watched a movie a couple of nights ago called Avatar! It stirred my soul so deeply! It showed a race of people living and breathing AT ONE with their world. This is our message. Clear and simple. Somewhere down the line we went wrong, but the blue print is innate within us all.

Mother Earth doesn't judge anyone. She simply seeks harmony. I don't see that happening within the structures of the current world. It needs to fall. Change is inevitable - our choice is whether to evolve with it.
