25/02/12: "The Making of an Angel..."
Sometimes something happens that melts your heart.
For me it happens most strongly, when a brave and courageous soul puts their life on the line to find a deeper meaning. Someone who can go into a war zone for example, knows the risks, but yet still capture the essence of the mirror that we are all being presented. It strikes me Marie Colvin was just such an angel. Time and again she risked her life to gather that deep and meaningful mirror. This time, her final story, was told paying the ultimate sacrifice. In the war torn Syrian district of Homs, she gave her life so that we might find a deeper meaning to it. What might that deeper meaning be?...
Always the deeper meaning
There's a quote that I made in the 5 Gateways film which seemed to just role off the tongue. I'm so pleased it did, because for me at least, it defines so accurately the situation humanity is faced with right now and provides some deep clues as to how to deal with it...
- "We're not living in one world but two.
The lower world is based on a system of inequity and injustice
it's a world of have and have-not, of rich and poor,
of profit and loss, of winner and looser,
It's an out-dated system long past its sell-by-date.
And yet there's another world,
a truly beautiful world of interconnectivity with all,
It's where all life is cherished and respected,
It's where we receive with one hand and with the other,
we give in equal measure.
It's about spiritual enrichment and continued human evolution.
One world has a future, the other does not."
The point is that we can choose to take this third dimensional reality purely at face value. We can get locked into the drama of it if we want to. We can fight and struggle for a greater harmony. We can focus our attention solely on this lower world in which case, we identify with it and in so doing, make it even more real, it persists longer precisely because we're giving energy to it.
Alternatively, we can look through the world with 5D eyes and always find the deeper meaning, the higher choice, that awesome sense of authentic human beingness that overcomes our fears, our trials and tribulations, to find and express something greater, higher, more evolved. In which case, we are aligning with the light, the higher flow. We're confronting our resistances to life, looking fear directly in the eyes and dissolving it. In so doing, we expand and align with the higher consciousness, the higher world, that which has a destiny and a future.
What is spiritual?
I have no idea if Marie Colvin was spiritual. But then what is spiritual anyway? If we define spiritual as aligning with the deeper meaning and truth within situations, then judging by her words and actions, you could say she was indeed spiritual...
- "We go to remote war zones to report what is happening. The public have a right to know what our government, and our armed forces, are doing in our name. Our mission is to speak the truth to power. We send home that first rough draft of history. We can and do make a difference.
Marie Colvin
She never knew if what she was doing would stir something in the hearts of her readers: enough to actually get up off the sofa and do something about it: enough not to simply turn the page, but enough to turn the page on life; to do something different; to be inspired, uplifted, motivated.
When we see a two year old child dieing in a war zone as she reported recently, I'd say there are three ways in which you can deal with it: One, it is simply too difficult and painful to process, so we ignore it; Two, it's just one of those situations that happens around the world anyway, and ignore it; Or three, we can look into the mirror and ask, "What does it say about my life? What is the meaning of my life? Can it give me a higher truth, a greater expansion?" - yes indeed, a greater expansion.
- Maybe such gut-wrenching events can give me the courage to face the trials and tribulations of my life and say, "well, it could be worse, others are suffering far more than I. I have a roof over my head, food on my table and a degree of security. I am blessed. Now what can I really do with that? I can either sleep walk through life, or make my life really sing. To make a difference. To show the way that leads into a higher state of being. Then the child's death is not wasted. You've given it meaning. A deep spiritual meaning.
Life in 5D
So I'd suggest that this may provide a way to consider many of the difficult and challenging events that are taking place all around us right now. Let's be perfectly clear, life in the 3D is not going to get clearer nor lighter anytime soon. Society is taking a very obvious path deeper into the density.
But that doesn't mean that we have to be taken in and drawn lower with it. Quite the opposite in fact. It's really time to give up our identification with the 3D, to stop relying on the system that supports us and the dodgy truths we're sold.
It's really time to be inspired to look beyond, to go beyond. It's a time when we're going to see the very best and the very worst of human nature - a growing polarity. And I'd say the invitation for evolving people is to keep looking in the mirror, but to always let go of attachment and then align with the higher light through it. Where is the expansion?
- For me, it's not about trying the fix this 3D world,
I know anyway that Gaia has a plan for that inevitability well in hand.
It's about looking through the 3D to find the deeper meaning,
the higher purpose, the expansion and the light.
It's always there. There's truth at the heart of every distortion,
we simply have to look for it, align with it and make it sing.
That way, we'll be sure to be a part of Humanity's destiny:
Life in 5D.
Expanding the boundaries into eternity
So I thank you Marie Colvin and people like you. People who have the courage to confront the limitations of their frail physicality, but not let that hold them back. People who have the courage to test the boundaries, to put their hands right through the canvass of the illusion to find the truth. People who inspire others to explore the meaning of their lives and find a deeper purpose...
- You are a fine example to us all. You help us see the deeper meaning in our own story, to know that we are blessed to be here, and as such not fear death, but expand our boundaries into eternal life.
As I read Marie's eloquent recent words the day after her death, I was deeply moved. Tears began to flow. I could feel the purity and beauty of her soul. Just then, a gust of wind gathered and washed through me. I knew it was her, making her way into heaven.
It was the making of an angel.

Unfolded wings
Such a beautiful posting.
It always touches me so when people put their own life out there in order to full fill their purpose of benevolence. This must have been her purpose and hopefully the message carries forwards even after her moving onwards. I sense you had a special connection with her energy at that time of passing.
Always an invitation to 'look beyond' and 'go beyond' as you say, into a higher paradigm of existence. And how, what we see inspires us to unfold our own wings, in order that others may be inspired to do the same.

The Gift
Hi Chris
I have noticed that just before we slide down the slide from the spiritual realms into this human form we are given a "gift envelope" and this is our gift to bring to the world.
This ranges from music to art to teaching to caring for the land to caring for animals to caring for people to helping others awaken and so on.
There are two things about this gift. The first is that it brings joy to the person giving it and secondly it helps uplift the energy, vibration and often love and consciousness of people and the planet.
This is not necessarily our life's purpose, although it may be, but it is a small gift to share.
Marie was just sharing her gift.
Your future vision of the world is the one I see where we are all free to share our gifts and evolve the human species into the truly great loving species it can be.
Cheers Graham
Changing the world
Hi Graham,
I've not heard it put like that before - "a gift envelope" - that we're given to bring to the world. Nice one
It is an interesting concept indeed and I guess one which we'd all like to understand and truly embrace: what am I here to do? and how can I do it?
For me there's a huge clue for each of us in understanding exactly what the nature of the gift itself is and how it works. If we understand that, it can make our lives a whole lot easier.
Your post inspired me to write a blog on it this morning, so I'll simply link to that...
A divine Gift of Beingness
Chris
Thanks
Thanks Chris, nice blog
I have found answering interesting questions are a good way to deepen my own experiences and understanding.
I feel I will catch up with you guys sometime as I also see the dots being joined as the kindred people connect.
In Australia at the moment but who knows where travels will take us.
Cheers Graham
:)
I love the "gift envelope"
I wonder if there is a connection between being able to share the gifts and being able to notice and receive them.
About the article. I have a question. How come someone who experienced a 'higher' way of perception and being falls back, gets lost in everyday life again? It feels so natural, but somehow demands almost artificial maintenance.
Like if I skip yoga and meditation in the morning, I feel very clear effects and lose it.
And about spirituality. It seems to me that I lose any ideas about how spiritual person should look and behave like. I just know that I feel it when the 'truth' is in the air, like we all do. I guess this is just enough for me to define it as spiritual. And the only common effect is that it is usually uplifting ad inspiring the person himself and others (it doesn't have to be pleasant or nice).
polishing the diamond
Interesting you say that Yulia...
"I wonder if there is a connection between being able to share the gifts and being able to notice and receive them."
I'd say you can only share them first if you notice them in others. If you notice them in others, and they keep spiking in your consciousness, I'd say you're then seeing a reflection of yourself. Then the only way they can come through is to remove the obstacles in their way.
Then you ask...
"How come someone who experienced a 'higher' way of perception and being falls back, gets lost in everyday life again? It feels so natural, but somehow demands almost artificial maintenance."
I'd say it relates to exactly the same thing. You notice a gift of beingness and start attuning to it, but as that quality comes in, we're taken to all those places that stop it being able to persist. It's an inevitable flow. And sometimes certain conditions will help us expand for a while, to resonate a certain frequency, but perhaps we're not yet ready to maintain that.
Yoga and meditation will get you 'up' yes, but ultimately, you reach a state were you don't purposefully need to do any of those things to stay up. In fact it could be quite the opposite - your beingness is so integrated, you could step into a war zone and still feel you.
But that all depends on how much you've tested it, how much you've 'put yourself out', how much you've 'polished the diamond'.
Chris
Tricked back into everyday life.
Hi "Someone"
In my experience I found that I wasn't slipping from full awareness and getting lost in everyday life again, I was being sneakily tricked by my ego mind characters that I still have operating from time to time into that space.
They still want to run the show and to be in charge so when we are not looking they slip into our bodies driver's seat and take you to where THEY want to go. I have noticed that they don't usually drive you towards paradise.
For me it was my awareness of the mind made characters I have and that I was "Not here" in the present moment. So my "artificial maintenance" was to see the characters operating and remember to say to myself, "I am here".
Where the 'fun' really starts
Indeed the 'Shadow' is very tricky Graham
When the ego senses its demise so instead starts to behave like the soul, then the 'game' takes us to a whole new level.
That's where the 'fun' really starts!
Chris
Amazing!
That you raised it, Graham, because THIS is what is happening (with identities), but I don't seem to have the courage to even make a decision to step back from who 'I got used to be' yet. So I just admit that.
This part, dealing with identities, is very 'fun' too, and a VERY challenging one as well.
Probably on each level something similar is happening. Identities, then shadow?
But it is always the same, ha? Finding a 'real thing' there behind the shield and expressing it.
Hello Again "Someone" Hope
Hello Again "Someone"
Hope you and Chris don't mind if I chip in again but this seems to be an area I know well. I have even made quite a few notes on it.
Many of these mind made identities are not your friend. If they take you to worry, fear, guilt, hate or anger in any form they are not being friendly and certainly not working for you. They are just fuzzy balls of energy with no real power except what you give them.
Just being aware of these helps them to retire quickly.
If you are going to play with identities you might as play with the ones that have fun and make you feel good.
At the very least life here on Earth is more peaceful and fun.
At a guess, I would say from your photo that you have a warm, uplifting, fun energy. Operating from the Soul ( or the nice identities ) I would imagine that you have a very positive influence on raising the energy and vibration of people and these little positive ripples travel a long way.
Maybe your "gift" is just you being the real you?
Is ignorance bliss?
Hi Graham,
You said...
"If you are going to play with identities you might as play with the ones that have fun and make you feel good."
Although it's definitely not the Openhand way, amusingly it reminds me of the scene with Cypher and the steak in the Matrix. But is ignorance really bliss?....
Chris
Is ignorance bliss?
Easy question
"But is ignorance really bliss?...."?
It can be, but only for a short time. Cypher wanted to be wealthy movie star. Don't see too many of them leading happy, contented lives for too long.
Thanks for the film clip, it is a great film. I think it was made by the matrix because the people with freedom outside the matrix were not living in paradise. I didn't really blame Cypher for baling. He probably just wanted a steak, hot shower and clean clothes.
It's the habit that's the problem
For me, the point about the Matrix is that it is not about 'here' or 'there'. The matrix of course is everywhere - we're in the matrix when we're being attached and non authentic.
I agree, can't blame Cypher at all for wanting some 'creature comforts'. Again I think the key is attachment. Shortly after I woke up I gave up alcohol. I was teetotal for several years. But now, every so often, I might have a glass of wine and it feels really great. As Soc says in another great spiritual film, "it's the habit that's the problem"...
Chris
Attached very much
Playing with identities is one thing. Here I don't see any problem to play with both sad or painful mechanisms or joyous and fun ones. It doesn't really matter. People kinda forget that sad and depressive stuff is rather 'enjoyable' for their ego. After all these are very deep and interesting experiences.
Being afraid to release the identities, mechanisms and experiences is another thing. Here I feel the same. It is not important for me, 'positive' or 'negative', and positive even more dangerous, as there is a risk to get trapped in the rosy fun bubble 'forever'.
I have no goal to be shiny, fun and warm, but only real, a "real boy"
Even if it will be very not nice and pleasant in somebody's eyes.
So in my case - I am trapped and very much attached! hhhh
All I do now is getting acquainted with this fear: what is going to be left IF I leave it all. Who am I going to be then? And it is accompanied by all kinds of funny worries, like what if my new me won't let me dance, fight, listen to my favorite songs and all those things I like so much? (yeah yeah, you can laugh)
Everything seems to happen 'by the book', just what people say happened to them. But somehow when this is happening to me, I feel completely stupid and don't know what to do, but waiting, despite all the tips and recipes out there and also here on the website. I guess everybody go through this, because how can you really let go if you are holding on to some recipe? I feel that part of it is really feeling lost and then opening and asking, so that I don't actually do anything, but allowing.
It is comforting though to know others have been through this.
Detached
Attachment - It becomes an interesting dance. Attached to something or attached to not being attached.
I wrote a whole load more words here but they don't need to be said so I deleted them.
I will just run with my line of "Judge nothing and no one".
rosy fun bubbles for me
It does get simpler ( for many ) unless you have dark hair and eyes and don't really want to let go.
Most really spiritually aware people I have met who have cleared most of their human dramas are shiny, warm and fun. Heck, some of them even dance, fight and play music. It seems to be a side affect of awakening so watch out or it might happen to you even if it is not a goal.
:D
Funny...
