26/06/08: "The liberation of letting go"...

Releasing life's attachments
Here at Openhand we're often asked about the importance of releasing our attachments in life. There is no doubt that this is a powerfully liberating and fulfilling experience that clears the pathway on our journey of spiritual evolution.

When I first became consciously aware of my blockages I found it helped to see the attachment as a piece of red hot coal...

Each piece of hot coal was causing suffering. My mind would often talk me into the fact that it would be painful to let go, when in fact it was infinitely more crippling to hold on.

Each time I’d let go of something, the emotional and psychological scarring began to heal; just as skin tissue would begin to heal after holding hot coal. I found that by allowing higher consciousness to pour in, any 'wound' would restore to its natural state of health.

Our attachments have often been lingering for years or even lifetimes. Just like the way our feet embed in a pair of favourite shoes worn day in day out, our blockages are often deeply moulded within our system. This means that once we have let go, the imprint of our released blockage still remains until we allow that to fall away and dissolve too.

This is one of the reasons it can be so challenging to let go of attachments when we are so geared up and ready to move on!

We often subconsciously recreate a new behaviour pattern to fit the mold that remains. It is helpful once we have let go of something to then bring awareness to the imprint that has been left behind, for this must also be released to experience full freedom from whatever was holding us back.

Here at Openhand we believe we have uncovered a wonderful process for helping let go and dissolve such blockages. We call it "Openhand Approach". We teach it on our course Way of the Heart. You can read all about it here...Openhand approach
