"Always take the weather with you"

Do you always take the weather with you?
As I sat down to write this, as ever I went inwards and asked the question “what would you have me write?” Nothing immediately sprang to mind so I relaxed in the beautiful sunshine pouring in through my window. “God” frequently speaks to us through music so it was no surprise that the lyrics of a popular song flowed in called “weather with you”. A few of the words touched my heart deeply so I thought I would share them with you...

    "Walking round the room singing
    Stormy weather
    At 57 mt. pleasant st.
Now its the same room but everythings different
You can fight the sleep but not the dream
Things aint cooking in my kitchen
    Strange affliction wash over me
Julius caesar and the roman empire
    Couldn’t conquer the blue sky
Theres a small boat made of china
    Going nowhere on the mantlepiece
Do I lie like a loungeroom lizard
Or do I sing like a bird released
Everywhere you go you always take the weather with you"

    Crowded House

As I wrote down the lyrics it quickly dawned on me what I was meant to take from them. Firstly since nothing was “cooking in my kitchen” I could rest my active mind and allow first stillness to “wash over me”. From stillness came the realisation that nothing really matters because nothing can “conquer the blue sky”. In this state of peace I had two choices, either do nothing and “lie like a loungeroom lizard” or allow the beauty of the moment to be expressed through me and “sing like a bird released” which is what I have chosen to do here. In so doing, I feel the beauty of God consciousness flowing through me which is there for everyone ALL the time.

So no matter what circumstances you find yourself in, may you be in inner peace and “always take the weather with you!"

Love and best wishes
