Heart warming poems

A variety of poems with a spiritual 'flavour'...

Age of the Light Warriors

On the surface of our world right now
There is war, violence, and craziness
    And things may seem dark...

The Call - Oriah Mountain Dreamer

"I have heard it all my life,
A voice calling a name I recognized as my own...

Sweet confinement of aloneness

    "When your eyes are tired
    the world is tired also.
    When your vision has gone...

A Golden Compass - Hafiz

Forget every idea of right and wrong
    Any classroom ever taught you
Because an empty heart, a tormented mind,
    Unkindness, jealousy and fear
    Are always the testimony.
    You have been completely fooled!...

The Journey - Mary Oliver

    One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
    though the voices around you
    kept shouting
    their bad advice
    though the whole house
    began to tremble...

and you felt the old tug
    at your ankles.
    "Mend my life!"
    each voice cried.
    But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
    though the wind pried
    with its stiff fingers
    at the very foundations,
    though their melancholy
    was terrible.
    It was already late
    enough, and a wild night,

Between two waves of the sea - T.S.Eliot

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time...

Light will some day split you open - Hafiz

Light will someday split you open
Even if your life is now a cage,
For a divine seed, the crown of destiny,
Is hidden and sown on an ancient, fertile plain
    You hold the title to...

Letting go

    To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...

To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

The Grail - St Teresa of Avila

They are like shy, young school kids -
    time and space
before the woman and the man who are
    intimate with God.
The realised soul can play with this universe
the way a child can a ball...

A chalice - the Grail - my body became, for it held the Christ
    and he drank
    from me.

    Sanctified are our limbs,
for every heart has touched God,
    though most with closed eyes.

A holy relic is each creature,
    and beauty may worry
    about its comeliness waning.

In two worlds

"A man and a woman sit near each other,
and they do not long at this moment to be older, or younger,
nor born in any other nation, or time, or place...
