Dolphin Breathing

|

Breathing is essential to vitality and good health and yet so few of us do it properly. Many of us lead sedentry lives which means we tend to only breathe using the top part of our lungs. Consequently the blood is not as fully oxygenated as it could be and our level of consciousness is thereby limited...

In Openhand Meditation we practise an ancient form of breathing known as 'Dolphin Breathing'. Essentially the lungs are fully filled and emptied in a process similar to hyper ventilation but in a controlled way. This takes one into a heightend state of consciousness where we can more easily sense and attune ourselves to the consciousness of the soul.

It also increases one's awareness and sensitivity to the etheric body and the level of Ki flowing through the body rises naturally. Ki held within the lower Chakras is transmuted and released up the spine into the pineal gland. In Dolphin breathing, consciousness is held within the fontanel (where the three bone plates in the skull meet) which activates the crown chakra drawing in universal Ki. This in turn meets the Ki rising from the spine at the pineal gland or third eye. The effect is know as 'Kundalini' and elevates one to a state of bliss.
