Thanks for the question Sam - as ever I can only offer my truth as I experience it. I am not saying this is the truth...

In my experience, there is only one true purpose of the universe. That is for the One Life - the zero sum total of all things - to know itself. Before my awakening, I was an athiest and saw only separation between the multiple parts of the universe. To me there was no synchonicity or harmony between all things.

However, during my awakening, I was caused to release my attachment to my own iddentity and as a result, my consciousness idenitifed less with my ego and expanded outwards to 'reconnect' with unity consciousness - the one awareness throughout the universe.

Now I see that every event has a purpose. So if you contemplate the various patterns in your life such as your relationships, you will notice that you recreate the same circumstances again and again until you discover what those interactions are telling you about your self and you are able to release the attachment.

For example, I may find that I manifest a partner in my life that is controling. They can only be controling however if inside of me there is the illusionary belief that I need something from them - their love to make me whole for example. The One Life (that which we are) needs no such love because it is already complete and whole and so I will continue to manifest controling partners until I go inwards and find my own wholeness.

The same patterns arise in ALL other attachments. Money is another classic example. Many people fear death because they fear the termination of their life's experience. Consequently they doubt that the universe will support their life. This doubt manifests as a lack of trust that the resources they need to be who they are will come to them. Consequently, no matter how much money they generate, they will always experience lack.

Death of course is an illusion. The One Life that we are cannot go anywhere because it is everywhere. When we realise this, the fear of lack dissolves and with that the fear that we won't be supported in being who we are. We cannot NOT be supported.

When we realise that every single experience has the purpose to reveal ourselves as whole and complete without the need for ANYTHING, then we are released from being the victims of circumstance and the prisoners of this experience called life. We become eternal masters of life. With that comes absolute liberation.
