Is everything we know about the Universe wrong?

Hi Chris

I have just watched this fascinating Horizon documentary shown on Tuesday (BBC2).

It referred to a phenomenon called "dark flow" which appears to be attracting huge clusters of galaxies crossing billions of light years to a single point.

This dark matter makes up some 80% of the Universe and cannot be explained by current scientific theory except that it is necessary to make our existing model of how the Universe was created make mathematical sense.

It is called dark matter because it is invisible and neither emits or reflects light. It can also pass through solid matter without leaving any trace.

What I loved about this programme is that it finally allowed me to understand the concept of nothingness. This invisible energy which accounts for 80% of the Universe is actually made up of no-thing yet it still exists.

For me, this is the magical, unexplainable Truth that I learnt from Brahman and you refer to in your diagrams of everything coming from and returning to a single source.

I hope you watched it and would love to know how it fits with your Truth.

Dark matter

Thanks Clive,

I haven't seen it but yes my attention has been drawn of late to what the science community is referring to 'dark matter' - seeking to understand how that relates to our spiritual concept of the universe - interesting times indeed!

Chris

Dark?

Maybe it's only dark when they see it from this dimension? Maybe from another dimension is full to the brim with life and energy and inspiration. Smile

Michelle

Quite so!

Hi Michelle

Scientists call this phenomenon dark because it neither emits or reflects light. Also, because they don't understand it, I think their is a "sinister" implication in their name. They also call it matter which somehow, I doubt that it is.

My totally unscientific view is that when nothing became everything after the so-called "big bang", nothing didn't disappear. It remained as an integral yet invisible part of everything. In fact I would say it is the very fabric that holds everything together.

Far from being sinister, I find the notion of something unexplainable governing the Universe very comforting - a bit like God really!

Dark/light matter

It seems to me that what Science is referring to as 'Dark Matter' could well be what we refer to here at Openhand as "Unity Consciousness" - that energy which binds life together and draws us to ever higher vibrational harmony.

The Divine Matrix

Max Planck (one of the founding Fathers of Quantum physics) showed that there is an underlying energy field to the universe that he called 'the matrix'. Here is a quote from Planck:

“All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force... We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter.”

This whole concept is described eloquently in Gregg Braden's book "The Divine Matrix" which is a great read blending science with spirituality (the eternal truths) in an excellent way...see http://www.greggbraden.com/books_audios_videos/ for more details.

Happy reading,

The Seagull!
