Propelled by discomfort
16 May, 2012 - 16:13 — Trinity Bourne“The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”

Sweet independence
30 May, 2012 - 06:52 — Trinity Bourne"It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinions;
it is easy in solitude to live after your own;

Love fullfilling itself
13 June, 2012 - 06:45 — Trinity BournePoetry to melt my heart...

To melt and be like a running brook
that sings its melody to the night.
To wake at dawn with a winged heart

Some humble offerings
14 June, 2012 - 00:34 — BredaWhen Divine intervention is greeted by human will,
Angels hold their breath knowing that the results will be spectacular.
The capacity of the human heart is ever bountiful
One size fits All.
Heaven inspires you--Earth nurtures you.
Its a pity that you are such an arrogant teenager.
Tenderness is a quality which will penetrate any human ego.
The results may not be viewed immediately by the giver,
but the ego knows that its days are numbered.
Do not shoot the messenger of pain.
Allow it to reveal why it came,then let it be on its way.
It will not linger once it has fulfilled its role.
Mind is fickle-- Heart is true.
Stop running and just Be.
You cannot hide from you forever.
Eventually Life will have its way.
Lovely

Happiness is...
15 June, 2012 - 06:34 — Trinity Bourne"Happiness is like a butterfly.

Challenging times...
29 June, 2012 - 19:30 — Trinity BourneIf you are going through challenging times, remember that the only way out is THROUGH. Keep trusting. It will pass. Or in the words of Winston Churchill....

Everything is

Don't believe anything unless...
14 July, 2012 - 20:36 — Trinity BourneListen to your heart and it will guide you... always.
Let's inspire one another and help reflect our true beingness to each other, but always, always remember, that we can only ever know something to be true if we find it in our own heart.
"The most important freedom
19 July, 2012 - 08:46 — Teresa"The most important freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You give up your ability to feel, and in en exchange put on a mask"
Jim Morrison
The Prophet
19 July, 2012 - 22:31 — BredaBeauty is eternity gazing at itself in a mirror.
But you are eternity and you are the mirror.
Reason ruling alone is a force confining;and passion
unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.
Therefore let your soul exalt your reason to the height of
passion, that it may sing.
The deeper that sorrow carves into you being, the more joy
you can contain.
There are those who give and know not pain in giving,
nor do they seek joy, nor give with mindfulness of virtue;
They give as in yonder valley the myrtle breathes its
fragrance into space.
Through the hands of such as these God speaks, and from
behind their eyes He smiles upon the earth.
Kahlil Gibran

Don't know?
25 July, 2012 - 10:20 — Fiona ReillyDon't know where I am going.
Don't know what is coming next.
Don't know who I am anymore.
This is courage not confusion;
it is wisdom not folly.
It creates the space for something
new to be born.
Joan Borysenko
Grateful to be alive!
26 July, 2012 - 09:45 — Fiona Reilly"Don't ask yourself what the world needs;
ask yourself what makes you come alive.
And then go and do that.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
Howard Thurman
IF - Ruyard Kipling
29 July, 2012 - 20:16 — BredaThis is my all time favorite poem.
It captured my heart when I first read it.
If
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowances for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated,don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good or talk too wise.
If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginning
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
Rudyard Kipling

Who are we?
26 September, 2012 - 17:42 — someone“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson
Real power
12 October, 2012 - 15:59 — someone"We are powerful beyond measure, and so deeply vulnerable at the same time. This may seem like a dichotomy, but it isn’t. We have misunderstood real power. It has been something assertive, non-surrendering, pushing on through. This is not real power. This is simply willfulness. Real power is something else- receptivity, openness, the courage to keep your heart open on the darkest of days, the strength to feel it all even when the odds are stacked against you. Real power is showing up with your heart on your sleeve and absolutely refusing to waste one moment of your life hidden behind edginess and armor. The art of enheartened presence. Now that’s power." ~ Jeff Brown
becoming the wave!
14 October, 2012 - 20:22 — Trinity Bourne"It isn't by getting out of the world that we become enlightened,
but by getting into the world... by getting so tuned in that we can ride the waves of our existence and never get tossed because we become the waves."
Ken Kesey (best known for his novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest 1962)
Unity dispels fear
17 October, 2012 - 07:04 — Trinity Bourne"Those who see all creatures in themselves and themselves
in all creatures know no fear.
Those who see all creatures in themselves
and themselves in all creatures know no grief.
How can the multiplicity of life delude the one who sees its unity?
The Self is everywhere.
Bright is the Self, indivisible, untouched by sin, wise and transcendent.
She it is who holds the cosmos together."
Isha Upanishad

19 October, 2012 - 11:08 — Trinity BourneA beautiful reminder for all of us, when we are surrounded by darkness!

being the light...
28 November, 2012 - 18:03 — Trinity BourneIgnorance can be compared to
a dark room in which you sleep.
No matter how long the room has been dark,
an hour or a million years,
the moment the lamp of awareness is lit
the entire room becomes luminous.
You are that luminosity.
You are that clear light."

Everything within...
8 December, 2012 - 00:40 — Trinity BourneIn the center of your heart, no bigger than the size of your thumb, is a secret dwelling, the lotus of the heart.
Within this dwelling is a space, and within that space is the fulfilment of all desires.
As great as the infinite space beyond is the space within the lotus of the heart. Both heaven and earth are contained in the inner space, both fire and air, sun and moon, lightning and stars. Whether we know it in this world or know it not, everything is contained in that inner space.
~ Chandogya Upanishad

19 December, 2012 - 09:11 — Trinity BourneThis magnificent refuge is inside you.
Enter. Shatter the darkness that shrouds the doorway…
Be bold. Be humble.
Put away the incense and forget
the incantations they taught you.
Ask no permission from the authorities.
Close your eyes and follow your breath
to the still place that leads to the
invisible path that leads you home.

Embrace the moment
6 January, 2013 - 16:39 — Trinity Bourne"Time is limited,

Drink, before you fall to pieces."
But... but...
6 January, 2013 - 19:24 — someoneThere is no time <:| (?) (Me so confused)
Beyond intellect
6 January, 2013 - 20:12 — Trinity BourneFalling through the words here....
We could rephrase it 'illusions are limited, they are like bubbles, that will all pop sooner or later' - time exists only as a paradoxical illusion to give a particular experience. Embrace the moment. Embrace the gift of the moment, without attachment, because it will fall away. So many ways to interpret the words. The important thing for me, is the energy behind them, which to me defies the intellect altogether.
To me here, Rumi talks of letting go of all attachment and surrendering into the timeless, eternal moment of pure presence. This is the moment where all illusion shatters.
Words
6 January, 2013 - 20:21 — someoneOh
I got it through your words better
Because I got the feeling of a rush and stress in Rumi's words, as if I have to hurry or else I'll miss the abundant water :O hhhh
Re: Words

The moon in us all...
8 January, 2013 - 17:44 — Trinity BourneThe moon does not fight.
It attacks no one.
It does not worry.
It does not try to crush others.
It keeps to its course,
but by its very nature, it gently influences.
What other body could pull
an entire ocean from shore to shore?
The moon is faithful to its nature,
and its power is never diminished.
~ Deng Ming-Dao ~
Walls fall down...
11 January, 2013 - 21:18 — Trinity Bourne"Your neighbour is your other self
dwelling behind a wall.
In understanding,
all walls shall fall down.”
Kahlil Gibran
Let there be spaces
12 January, 2013 - 11:23 — Mike“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.”
― Khalil Gibran, The Prophet
Ideas of happiness
22 January, 2013 - 16:58 — Trinity Bourne"Our notions about happiness entrap us. We forget that they are just ideas. Our idea of happiness can prevent us from actually being happy. We fail to see the opportunity for joy that is right in front of us when we are caught in a belief that happiness should take a particular form."

City of blinding lights-U2
29 January, 2013 - 15:17 — MikeThe more you see, the less you know
The less you find out as you go
I knew much more then than I do now
Neon heart day-glow eyes
A city lit by fireflies
They're advertising in the skies
For people like us
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
Don't look before you laugh
Look ugly in a photograph
Flash bulbs purple irises
The camera can't see
I've seen you walk unafraid
I've seen you in the clothes you made
Can you see the beauty inside of me?
What happened to the beauty I had inside of me?
(cut)
And I miss you when you're not around
I'm getting ready to leave the ground
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
Time...time...time...time...time
Won't leave me as I am
But time won't take the boy out of this man
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
Oh you look so beautiful tonight
In the city of blinding lights
The more you know the less you feel
Some pray for others steal
Blessings are not just for the ones who kneel... luckily
What you know you can't explain
30 January, 2013 - 17:01 — Mike“What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad.”
― Morpheus,
I feel fortunate to be even aware of the path, perhaps for now just a knowing but the moment of truth is pulling and calling and I am listening. Ultimately the wrong that Morpheus refers too can only be a right as it is there to point the way. Love.
Did you stop dancing?
2 February, 2013 - 08:44 — Trinity BourneIn many shamanic societies, if you came to a medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions: When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence?"

Peace and presence
9 February, 2013 - 17:28 — Trinity Bourne"Peace is present right here and now, in ourselves and in everything we do and see. The question is whether or not we are in touch with it. We don't have to travel far away to enjoy the blue sky. We don't have to leave our city or even our neighborhood to enjoy the eyes of a beautiful child. Zen and the art of archery
21 April, 2013 - 18:25 — Trinity BourneThis little piece reminds me of things that I am learning or have learnt. Those things that we really master, become embodied as part of our beingness, after transcending the techniques and going to the heart of all things...

"If one really wishes to be master of an art, technical knowledge of it is not enough. One has to transcend technique so that the art becomes an "artless art" growing out of the Unconscious.
In the case of archery, the hitter and the hit are no longer two opposing objects, but are one reality. The archer ceases to be conscious of himself as the one who is engaged in hitting the bull's-eye which confronts him.
This state of unconsciousness is realized only when, completely empty and rid of the self, he becomes one with the perfecting of his technical skill, though there is in it something of a quite different order which cannot be attained by any progressive study of the art."
