"Gateways of Light": mini movie - the underlying messages

"Gateways of Light" the mini movie was indeed divinely inspired. The film seemed to have a life all of its own; it contains many hidden messages concerning our journey of Ascension. This forum thread is designed to look at those messages. What are your thoughts and views?...

When we made the film we had no particular agenda; there was simply an energy around it that was 'brewing up'. So in many ways we have equally been digesting its many varied meanings and guidances.

To me, the over-riding significance is to draw attention to the fact that we are going through a major earth transition. Nothing new about that you might say, there are many speaking of the difficult issues we're currently facing. However I think where the film is different, is that it asks the question "is it all meant to happen?"

When I look at the world through a multi-dimensional perspective, I see that every event and circumstance taking place holds a deeper more significant message - no one thing is separate from another. We are witnessing the unfolding of a story - that of our Ascension.

In my view, the key for lightworkers is not to get sucked into the external drama and in particular trying to "heal Mother Earth's woes". Why would I say this? Because I feel that Ascension is Mother Earth's healing - she is shaking off an old skin so to speak.

It seems to me that we have grown so out of sync with the natural flow of the universe and our at-one-ment with all life that some major upheaval is necessary to cause people to stop, disengage from attachment to the external drama and really explore who they are.

It is not that Mother Earth is creating this upheaval, it is mankind's resistance to the message speaking all around us - well we can no longer ignore that message, increasingly we will all be effected by it.

However to me it is most definitely not a cause to become negative or disheartened. In fact quite the opposite. For centuries it seems people have been praying to God, asking for a solution to society's madness. Well to me, those prayers are being answered right now...

"We turn to God for help when our foundations are shaking,
only to learn that it is God who is shaking them."

    Charles West

We are being afforded a miraculous opportunity - a chance to break the energetic stranglehold that is society's Matrix of mass human subconsciousness.

In the years that come - beginning right now - I see the Matrix shattering and being infused with light. However, we won't see that light through our 3rd dimensional eyes; we will see it through our 5th dimensional ones, those that see the miraculous weave - the synchronicity - of higher Benevolent Consciousness...

"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of Death,
    I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:
thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

Self sustainability is another of the key messages in our film "Gateways of Light". So what exactly do we mean by that?

To some, it may mean 'moving entirely' off the grid, living in the country somewhere, growing their own food and producing their own solar or wind power. Indeed across our planet right now there is a very powerful movement to this 'low-impact' living. But what does that say for the rest of us especially those living in normal housing and without the financial resources to move?

To me there are some key things to consider that everyone can think of and begin to apply. Here is a brief list...

  • Reducing the level of personal debt
  • Growing our own food
  • Harvesting rain water
  • Reducing consumption of commodities and power
  • Installing alternative power such as solar and wind
  • Working closer to home
  • Connecting with like-minded people and forming supportive groups
  • Tuning into and following higher guidance

Yes this is for many going to involve quite a radical change of lifestyle which may initially prove very difficult; we have simply become too addicted to modern society and all its so called 'convenience'.

However, it is the view of many across the planet right now (including myself) that industrial consumerism is out of control, unsustainable and likely to collapse at any moment. It could come as the result of peak oil for example, or the increasing effects of global warming or maybe a collapse in our increasingly fragile monetary system.

In fact many people are seeing this impending implosion as inevitable and that it will cause hardship and suffering for millions if we don't prepare ourselves and do something about it right now.

I believe that we will each be supported in this transition if we have the courage to go inwards, find inner peace and to trust and follow the guidance of our soul.

In so doing, I have found the changes suggested above are no real hardship at all - in fact quite the opposite. It is bringing me closer and closer into line with the natural energetic flow of the Universe and more at one with the consciousness of Mother Earth which unfolds as a deep inner joy.

I for one will not be sad if and when our society collapses. I see it as a powerful opportunity for people to change, go inwards and reconnect with their divine birthright - union with "God".

One of the key messages of the film is that the path of our Ascension is to 'continually attune to the light'. That in each moment we have this choice. So what exactly do we mean by this. In a recent Openhand Journal entry, I wrote this piece called "Attuning to the Light". Since it is one of the central themes of the film, I thought I'd include it here...

What does it mean to "attune to the lightness" in life?
There's no disguising the fact that we are moving into difficult times of great transition. What with global warming, the financial credit crunch and the "war on terror", there's no shortage of darkness around us. Here at Openhand we often speak of the importance of "attuning to the light". What exactly does that mean? Does it mean ignoring the darkness all together and focussing only on the light? Well not exactly...

Black and white choices
We believe that the entirety of the Universe is configured from two types of consciousness. "Separation Consciousness" is a flow of energy that created the notion of separation from the "One Life" through multiplicity of form which arose into being at the Big Bang. It is that flow of energy that takes us to ever increasing dis-order, dis-ease and separation from the source. Quantum science calls it an "increase in positive entropy".

On the other hand, since everything came from nothing, this outwards flow of Separation Consciousness must be balanced by the opposite inwards flow - what we might call "Unity Consciousness". It is that driving force which takes us to ever higher degrees of order, ease and harmony with all life. Quantum science calls it an increase in "negative" entropy, something we all know as "unconditional love".

In our model of consciousness, the human body (more accurately the 7 vehicles of bodily expression) are formed from this Separation Connsciousness and the soul is our unique expression of unity consciousness.

So our bodily vehicles of expression are intimately engaged with the whole notion of separation. Without this, we could have no experience at all for to know unity, we must also know separation. In other words there must be one thing relative to another for there to be an experience.

So to avoid the Separation Consciousness and all that arises from it is to be in a place of denial. We see this happening seemingly in some spiritual teachings - there is complete focus on what is regarded as the "light". In so doing, it is our view that we remove ourselves from authentic reality.

However our authentic expression is that of the soul which is an expression of unity - of the light. It is known by transcending the separation - the dark. So to us, every moment offers a choice. We see the darkness and acknowledge it, but find the path, through, around or over it in order to find the light and experience that.

If you are mountain biking down a hill and want to find the path around the obstacles, you don't ignore the obstacles! But neither do you focus on them - we instead focus on the path between them. At Openhand, this is what we mean by "attuning to the light".

Love and lightness

Another of the key messages in our mini movie Gateways of Light is that of surrender. But what exactly does this mean?

Having walked the inner journey for sometime, at some point or other, it becomes abundantly clear that to fight and struggle to control our lives is utterly futile. Our pathway is continually changing, updating and unfolding. Whilst we may develop a strong inner conviction of the big picture and the general flow of circumstance, we simply cannot know exactly what is coming next; the future really does unfold out how we are being of the moment.

Sometimes however when this realisation dawns, it can also do so with a distortion - that we might just as well give up any attempt to find our truth in the moment, that we should just abandon choice to the Universe. Surrender becomes blind acceptance which to me means giving up.

Surrender is not about giving up. It is about accepting that the Universe has a natural flow all of its own and that whilst we may resist this flow for a period of time, inevitably we will at some point be brought back into line with it. This is because we are all an integral part of the Universe; in surrendering we are simply acknowledging what is inherent within us.

The difficulty in our plane of existence is that the vibration here is particularly dense and distorting often making it very difficult to distinguish what is the natural flow of the Universe as expressed through our soul and what is the ego speaking. The only way to know this is by being completely present in the moment and watching our motivations for our actions. Then over time, by the application of profound self honesty, we discover the inherent skill of attuning to our soul through our distortions. Over time, our distortions dissolve making it increasingly more straight forward to align with the soul.

So surrender is not blind acceptance and it is most definitely not giving up. It is surrendering to the absolute truth of the moment and acting on it at whatever apparent personal cost to the ego. This form of surrender is indeed heavenly!
