Healing

I was wondering let's say if someone has 3rd degree burns from a fire on half their body. yet they want the skin to heal like you could never tell it was burned. how can this be done? since we are told not to believe in limitations anymore. do they have to wait for stem cell or 2012?

What is healing?

I'm going to present something that might push buttons but here goes!

We are not here to heal - or at least in the generally accepted understanding of what "healing" means. This doesn't mean we can't or shouldn't heal, simply that it is not our purpose for being here.

We are here to know ourselves as what we truly are - to self realise.

We have created for ourselves an illusion - a mirror. That mirror includes not only the wider universe but our bodies and minds as well.

The mirror works by creating circumstances that would cause us to forget our true nature - in other words we are caused to identify with the mirror - pain and suffering for example.

However one day we wake up to the fact that we are not the mirror. It is then that we start to liberate ourselves and experience ourselves as the awesome unbridled pure presence that is beyond the mirror.

Enlightenment is being in pure presence even in the 'best' and 'worst' experiences such as 3rd degree burns (please note I put 'best' and 'worst' in quotations because they are both judgments of an experience - the true self makes no such judgment).

In enlightenment there is no need to fix or heal anything - no efforting or trying to cure things - just total absolute acceptance of the way things are right now - even in our most difficult of moments, even as we are broken and burnt (yes even that too!).

We are all enlightened....except that is when we forget and identify with the illusion once more. The journey of enlightenment - THE ONLY "GAME" GOING ON IN THE UNIVERSE - is the continual recreation of circumstances that cause us to want to cure, heal, fix, shape, change until in each of these circumstances we realise just to let go and surrender into it. It is then that we are completely liberated from any pain and suffering - even 3rd degree burns.

Now you may say this is impossible to do. But it is possible. If we can be totally present, even through our most difficult trials, we will find there is a place beyond the pain and suffering - in truth it is THROUGH the pain and suffering.

When we find that place of peace, we can endure absolutely anything.

Paradoxically, just when we have been able to let go in this way, then we might unleash the awesome and spontaneous healing powers of the body - those not bridled by the mind with all its efforting.

Self realisation then is the true way to "heal".

What healing means to me

My perspective of 'healing' is parallel to yours Chris in that it is the remembering who we truly are.

In my experience healing occurs when we remove the blockages and distortions that prevent us from realising our innate wholeness and unity with all things. In this respect disease and suffering (whether physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) are caused by a temporary separation from our source because there is something. Effectively we are standing in our own way.

My work involves deep consciousness body work. I might use various techniques to help realign the body physically, spiritually and mentally.

The methods may help to balance the chakras and other systems within the body. It may also help to flush out toxins and release stored emotions and memories. It is however very clear to me that I am not healing the other person in the conventional sense (i.e. of 'making someone well' again). I am simply acting as a mirror and inviting another to find the wholeness inside of themselves.

The most effective sessions are always those in which the person receiving the treatment is taking responsibility for their own spiritual evolution (knowingly or unknowingly). During these session some of the most profound events take place. Injuries that have been active for many years may spontaneously heal, past and current life karma may shift, a whole new perspective on life may emerge, angelic 'healing' visions may be seen.

I am simply inviting the other to infuse with higher consciousness. This is most often unspoken. We can allow higher consciousness to flow through us to connect with the same within another. When this happens higher consciousness will begin to flow rapidly through the other, but only if they allow it to.

It can be incredibly helpful to work with others to remove blockages along the road to self realisation. It can be transformational to develop new skills to help us evolve spiritually. Likewise it can be very beneficial to receive body work to help rebalance and facilitate the process of clearing that which no longer serves us. I have personally found various the help from others along the way invaluable to my spiritual evolution. The reflection of ourselves in another is in my experience possibly the most powerful way to self realise in our modern world.
