How can we bring more light to the planet?
Despite the efforts of awakening light workers around the globe, it seems we are experiencing increasing darkness on many fronts. We seem unable to stem the tide of increasing consumerism and environmentally destructive behaviours; escalating disharmony between different belief systems goes unabated and 'big brother' governmental controls threaten our freedom to be who we truly are. So can light workers truly make a difference and change these patterns that threaten our very existence? How might we pull together so our efforts have greatest effect? Perhaps these are the most crucial questions of our times and it would be great to hear your views...

Trust in the natural unfolding of the universe.
To me, the key is to trust in the natural unfolding of the universe. However this doesn't mean we can sit back and just meditate. The key is to be in our truth in every moment and make those choices which we feel in our hearts.
If we do this, my view is that we fall into line with the plan of higher 'white' consciousness. In effect we become willing channels for that consciousness to effect the planet in the way it is meant to.
It is important however not to judge the effect by the outcome of each interaction. Sometimes to help someone is NOT to help them. Sometimes the best way to learn how NOT to drown is to be thrown in at the proverbial deep end. If we stay in our hearts and follow the pull to right action - that which expresses our highest truth - then we can be confident we are in line with the divine plan.
The true battle against darkness is taking place in the energetic field around us. On the surface each small action we take may appear almost insignificant and uncoordinated but the deeper you look into the patterning behind all events, the more you witness the breath taking subtlety of synchronistic action.
There is most definitely a plan and we are all a part of it. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to the whole. Don't be surprised however if it gets darker - much darker - before the inevitable sunrise.
Chris
Indeed Trust!!!
Chris, it is wonderful that you brought forward to remain in trust of the Universal flow.
It is also wonderful that you drew the awareness that "helping" someone is sometimes not to help. This again, does not mean that we are not to lend empathy or compassion to the circumstance.
And; Yes! Every action is part of the whole. To allow the flow is to allow the divine in its entirety.
By simply being aware and observing we remain a channel of light. For me, I relish in the thought "take that"!
*laughing*
It is true, that it can become real dark before the sunrise. But truth is,
"Light is what darkness most fears".
Much Love
What darkness fears most
Yes Wings I agree, "light is what darkness fears most".
Much darkness flows through the field - darkness that we cannot see, hear or touch but it influences our everything thought, word and deed - if we allow it to.
However if we can stay in observation of all that happens in the moment, then we begin to read the patterns arising from the events. It is then that we get a taste of the whole story going on here. We see and feel these influences and once in our awareness, we have the possibility to transcend them.
If we can feel the pull of right action in our hearts, then we experience ourselves as instruments of a greater action, one which breaks down and transmutes this opposing consciousness.
By focussing thought, word and deed, we can build tremendous emotional and spiritual energy around the right action we perceive - most have no idea just how powerful we truly are and if harnessed in this way, just what an incredibly uplifting effect we can have.
We must in my opinion, learn to become the 'warriors of truth' that is our inherrant nature. Searching for truth in every moment and expressing that at whatever apparent personal cost to ourselves.
It is then that we fully taste the divine plan of higher consciousness and become as one with it.

Bringing in more Light - Lifestyle choices
For many years now I have felt compelled to make susutainable and compassionate lifestyle choices. This seems to be no coincidence, and directly in proportion to my spiritual unfolding. I have found that naturally harmonising with Mother Earth undoubtably invites in more light.
The food we consume effects our vibration and our affinity with the planet. For many years now I have felt drawn to eat, home grown or locally produced organic food... A plant based diet of whole, unprocessed food of this nature with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits carries a much higher vibration than other diets.
Tap water is often so laden with chemicals, hormones, and who knows what, that we fill up every few days from the local spring, and prefer to drink only spring water.
The household products that we use also effect our vibration, so choosing natural products (home made from nature even better!), only using resources that are necessary, re-using anything that may be used again is energetically much more congruent with the flow of nature, and hence an opportunity to bring in more light.

In moderation
Hi Trin
I will agree that we are what we eat! If I am to believe that I am energy then it only seems fit to fuel up on energy based foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables. I am a natural source so I choose to eat natural food sources.
I do not eat perservatives. Firstly, I don't like the taste and secondly the texture to me, is like rubber!
I cannot remember the last time I drank tap water! Decades for sure! I just can't wrap my brain around recycled toilet water no matter what the technology!
Red meat, well no. There are many reasons why I choose to refrane from red meat. The biggest is the immediate shift in my vibration. For me, I get moody and tired.
I cannot and will not eat tofu! I believe I already made reference to that! Can't make me, can't make me!....*laughing*
Household products absolutely effect our vibration! The best, natural product I found is vinager and water. I use it on my countertops, floors, glass and wood!
There are certain choices that work for me and I can only share what I know works for me when the question is asked. I'm sure there are other changes I can make, but truth is I am not on a mission of perfection.
I like the balance and harmony of spirit and the human part of me. I am not prepared to deprive myself of something I don't feel is harming me to any degree. Heck! if I were to get into the "absolute" mode I would be putting on an oxygen tank and mask to prevent myself from enhaling the pollution.
Balance and moderation is Key. I take what I want and leave the rest.
Having said all of this, it is important to not only understand the spiritual, but the human part of who we are. Not only in the mind, but the body.
There are people on this planet who desparately require red meat to survive. "In their blood" or "running through their viens" should not be perceived as a cliche statement. Their blood type needs certain elements found in red meat to feed their immune system.
There are those people who cannot sit in direct sunlight, yet many who feel slight depression when not in the sun.
There are those alergic to certain fruits and vegetables.
The list is endless.
What is important is not limiting yourself for personality sake,(bad habits). Remain open, be aware and find what works for you in all your form.

Carpe Diem
We at Openhand and many friends included have sensed some quite dramatic effects occurring within the energy field around us since the beginning of the year. What is the prevailing perception of what's going on?
These are just two alarming effects of global energetic unrest which seems to be taking us toward a precipise. I feel myself staring into the abyss.
So what can we do about it? It is now more important than ever that we seek and find stillness within for it is only there that we will find true guidance on the best way forward in life.
During the Boxing day Tsunami of 2004 where many thousands lost their lives, few animals seemed to get caught up - their internal guidance mechanisms lead them to safety long before the waves struck the beaches.
It is our unwillingness to listen that has brought us to the brink of catastophe - well now there is no option but to sit up and take note.
Do the energy shifts signal the end of society as we know it? To quote a famous English man who had the forsight to see when crisis was just around the corner...
"This may not be the end,
it may not even be the beginning of the end,
but it could indeed be the end of the beginning."
Winston Churchill
So take action NOW! Bring more light to the planet by bringing more light to yourself!

Keep meditating
As I witness the effects of what seems to be increasing darkness across the planet, I like others have frequently asked what can I do to bring in more light? I've spent many hours in meditation asking higher consciousness if I could be of more effect.
It wasn't until any remnants of internal frustration had completely subsided that I received my answer.
Firstly everything that is happening to our world right now is a part of the bigger plan. We have been subjugated by our collective ignorance for too long. Crisis seems to be the only way to make us sit up and take notice.
Let me be clear, I'm not saying Higher Consciousness is leading this, I am saying it is allowing it to happen. We created our bed and we are being allowed to lie in it.
The way through this is to find absolute internal stillness. From the place where it doesn't matter, we find the unattached compassionate care providing the courage to fall in line with the divine plan.
It may be that we are unable to turn back the tide through global physical activism, however from the place of stillness, we attune to the flow of higher consciousness providing a channel for right action to happen.
Also when we contemplate deeply in meditation the issues facing us, our thoughts find their way into the collective consciousness. What we may feel is but an internal microcosm of understanding, can dramatically effect the macrocosm.
That's why when someone has an idea, the same rationale seems to spring up quickly across the globe.
So however you meditate, whether it be in the stillness of your own room or a walk in the countryside - keep going! We need more of it. Don't worry if you can't visualise the right intention, there is no need to. The consciousness is itself intelligent - it knows what to do. All we have to do is provide the channels for it to flow.
In this way, we can all help usher in the changes needed to bring lasting upliftment.
Chris
How Right You Are!
How Right You Are!
Chris, I really like the humbleness in this post.
Much of what you have conveyed is my belief! Always has been, always will be!
It is not my intention of molding anyone to believe either way. However, logic stands to reason and for me I can only live in this way because life just makes more sense! When I am faced with hardships or joy, it really allows me to live passionately. Free flowing!
Lack of understanding is the illusion.
So many people depend only on their 5 senses rather than their sixth! The sixth is the "All Knowing". The sixth sense does not ONLY imply seeing spirits. The sixth sense is raising awareness to tapping into one’s own spirit and connecting to the collective consciousness. This is the “Channelâ€Â.
Funny, how many believe in the after life but completely shut down the same trust in energy while living their life. Hmmm…
It is that o’l saying “I’ll believe it, when I see it†that has brought forward so much self-doubt!
When this statement is raised I fully understand the lack of awareness and don’t judge it either way. I simply give people something to think about that triggers their own awareness and say something like “When you have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom and it is pitch black, what are you relying on?†Certainly not sight, taste, hearing, speaking, or crawling to get there! It is a “knowing†of familiarity. It is the sixth sense. Or; A decision to walk down a street or not! Some call it the little voice or gut reaction or a miracle. They believe it is something that prevented a tragedy from occurring and carry on through life talking about the miraculous experience, but don’t seem to want to believe that the Higher Self exists in every moment!
It never seizes to amaze me of self contradictions. To believe and NOT!
Trust is the reality, in the illusion.
Chris you wrote…..

YES! YES! YES!
It does not matter how anyone gets there in their faith or beliefs just as long as people remain pure in their thoughts no matter what experience they are faced with and TRUST AND KNOW they are helping.

Flowing from the 'heart' and the state of the planet
Lori wrote: "The sixth sense is raising awareness to tapping into one’s own spirit and connecting to the collective consciousness. This is the “Channelâ€Â."
Great post Lori. Yes! The sixth sense to me is like a bridge, or the 'doorway', or the channel 'between' the worldly five senses and that which is infinitely more expansive and beyond...
Lori wrote: "Trust is the reality, in the illusion."
A wonderful way of putting it! Throughout the fabric of illusion, there is an eternal constant... that which unites all things. There is ultimately nothing else to trust. Everything else here (which is illusionary in my experience) changes.
It is my view also that as long as we sincerely act from the guidance of higher consciousness (flowing from the heart in the purest sense), we do only that which is 'given' to be done in the best interest of returning to our natural state of unhindered grace.
My child cried yesterday as we openly talked of the river dolphins that have recently become (very possibly) extinct in China, and polar bears that are drowning because of the melting Antarctic ice. He said that he would walk a thousand miles to save the creatures of the earth.
We discussed that the planet was simply in such a state because so many people people neglected the importance of allowing their heart to guide them in every action. We then shared that the only thing we do to 'help' the planet is to wholeheartedly be our 'true'selves by flowing from the heart with each moment.
If there is anything that can be done, then flowing from a place of divinely inspired truth will guide us into right action in the best interest of the unfolding plan of higher consciousness.
I love to hear that you have found alternatives for cleaning at home. For many years I have also been guided to use the most natural and ethical supplies for day to day living too. Perhaps we should begin a new thread, with tips (such as your vinegar cleanser) for conscientious living...

Awe...
Trin, you get it! Therefore your child will too! That's awesome!
I do believe the children are the ones with great awareness. Sadly it is the parents that can divert their rememberance by teaching ego desires rather than soul connection.
I have the TNT! Toddler & Teenager....lol
Both my children are in a constant state of awareness and possess an incredible ability in "unattachment". I have always taught my kids to go deep. Ask my kids at any given time what their Mother taught them and both without question will say "Love".
I have taught my kids to celebrate the human part of themselves and they certainly are not deprived of "stuff". They just know who they are and anything that comes along with that is a borrowed bonus. In other words they fully understand "can't take it with you when you die".
My oldest is 16. He had the opportunity to swim with the dolphins. It was an experience he will never forget! He said "Mom they are so intelligent and so human like in a sense". I said, "well Son I guess you solidified a long awaited question within yourself". "We are all ONE."
I tell my kids you two just know how to earn another feather in your wings. The little one who is 4 says, but Mommy I can't see my wings and I say well Honey perhaps they are not for you to see, but I'm sure you can feel them with all the love you feel in your heart.
Now my kids certainly have their moments, but heck! Don't we all!

'God' is prevalent in all things
How touching Lori! I can see what a heartfelt example you are able to offer your children. They are blessed indeed.
Our parenting style sounds like it has many parallels. Given a natural and openhearted foundation, they do understand the most profound insights.
I remember a few years ago when my little one was four years old... we were sitting at the kitchen table together with a fine display of stargazer lilies blossoming before us and he said
"Mummy... actually I can see god right now".
Interesting I thought and enquired "Really? Where can you see him?"
"Look... right there in the flowers."
He'd taken it upon him self, within the language that he'd learnt, that 'God' (for want of a better word) was prevalent in all things. Integrating of such an understanding into everyday living cannot but help invite 'light' into every moment.

The small things really count
A friend of mine recounted a wonderful incident which to me exemplifies how even the smallest action can have a profoundly uplifting effect on the surrounding field.
She was in her favourite store buying essential bath oils and as she reached the checkout noticed the cashier in a very grumpy and irritable mood. As my friend paid for her goods the cashier made special point of a bottle of Ayurvedic oil unscrewing the top to sample the delightful fragrance.
Immediately her mood began to lift so quick as a flash, my friend nipped back to the shelf to get another bottle which she duely paid for and gave to the cashier. A beaming smile of deep gratitude lit up across her face "how wonderful, no one's ever done that before, you've made my day!" she gleefully retorted.
As we can all imagine, when a stranger offers unexpected kindness in this way, the suprise can be deeply uplifting and the subsequent knock on to other people they then come into contact with is likely to initiate a chain reaction which can quickly spread far and wide.
To me it's a wonderful example of the powerful effect even the smallest of things can bring about; a smile, a greeting, a thank you. It doesn't take much.

Whole Heartedly :)
Chris I agree that it is in those tiny experiences that are like a blow horn that can bring us from such an unpleasent feeling to a flat flute serene space.
I personally recall many, many experiences that you speak of!
My awareness atenas always remain open to that special something in a moments notice!
That is the beauty in living in the moment!
When we remain open to those special moments everything changes.
Today was brutally cold! It was one of those days where I just wanted to be cooped up inside of my home however, duty calls.
I had to go out for the weekly grocery shop!
I was parking my car in the lot and "thinking...this sucks". When someone pulled up beside me who was elderly and fraile. In that moment I thought "Wow! and this sucks for me!"
In that moment it changed my mood to a different frame of mind.
It is the suttle reminders that are most powerful.
Nice post Chris!

tofu
hi ^^
i noticed Lori D. Carson said that they wouldnt eat tofu. is there something wrong with it, this is the first time ive heard of this. i eat it weekly so id like to know if it is effecting me. any info would be appreciated.
thank you ^^
Is tofu good for you?
Hi Loud,
Good question. Awesome to hear that you are exploring 'healthy eating'. The way we eat (in my experience) has the potential to raise or lower our vibration, thus bringing in more or less light accordingly.
There are differing opinions about tofu. One one hand it offers us all eight essential amino acids and it doesn't contain animal fats or cholesterol (big thumbs up
), and compared to meat and dairy is much easier to digest.
It has however not escaped my attention that many people are concerned about the fact that 90% of the global soya crop is contaminated genetically modified. It is said to be high in phytic acid (which inhibits absorbtion of magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. I have read endless arguements for and against soya products, although in the past few years, there seems to be more negative than positive.
I have felt a distinctive pull to avoid the consumption tofu, and soya products, and after all I have read and experienced, I am inclined to flow with this instictive guidance.

Dr. Martin Luther King - fighting the good cause...
Dr Martin Luther King once quoted this awesome poem in a speech against the war in Vietnam. Somehow it seems appropriate now to the fight against darkness across our planet...
"Once to every man and nation
Comes the moment to decide,
In the strife of truth and falsehood,
For the good or evil side;
Some great cause, God's new Messiah,
Off'ring each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever
Twixt that darkness and that light.
Though the cause of evil prosper,
Yet 'tis truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold,
And upon the throne be wrong:
Yet that scaffold sways the future,
And behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow
Keeping watch above his own."

The Kingdom of Heaven is within
It seems many awakening people feel the pull to jet off somewhere to expand their spirituality - places like India, Peru, Tibet are among many favoured destinations with their richly varied spiritual sites.
I remember once feeling very guided to visit the Holy Mountain Kailas in northern Tibet and watched over many months as synchronistically more and more information about it seemed to 'drop in my lap'.
However as I began to seriously plan the trip, it was then that I suddenly experienced an internal resistance. What was this about I asked in meditation? Why had I been so guided to explore Kailas and yet still feel the resistance to going?
It was then that the following words materialised in meditation "every guidance simply leads to a choice you don't yet understand. The Kingdom of heaven is within you".
I realised that I didn't need to go anywhere at all to intensify my spiritual connection - my own meditation room was the perfect environment. If I really wanted to experience the awesome stillness and magnificent beauty of Kailas, what I really needed to do was find absolute stillness inside - Kailas was inside of me!
A couple of days later synchronistically I bumped into a friend who I hadn't seen for some months - 'coincidentally' (LOL!) he was also planning a trip to Kailas and just happened to have a video which he lent me.
The video was the record of a westerner who'd gone to Kailas and taken part in the 'Kailas Kora', the very arduous task of circumambulating the peak which takes up to three days - some Tibetans prostrate themselves the whole way around requiring strength and dedication of herculaic proportions.

Kailas has an altitude of over 4000m and so is extremely demanding for anyone who is not acclimatised - the westerner in the video was deeply physically challenged and brought to the very limits of his endurance.
I watched as he dragged himself around barely able to put one foot in front of the other. It had not helped of course that he had already experienced an arduous several thousand mile trip to get there. At the end of the day what was the spiritual experience he attained?
For him it was clear it was merely about physical challenge which on one level of course offers self realisation. But did it help him explore the subtle quiet vibrations within his own body? I doubt it!
It was then that I completely surrendered to the joy of knowing the kingdom of heaven is within and I simply don't need to jet off around the planet in search of what I already have.
I am frequently caused to think that many use spiritual pilgrimages as an excuse for not having to sit in stillness quietly by themselves. Yes it does take dedication and persistence and in the beginning the rewards may seem few and far between.
In our society we are so conditioned to the endless distractions of external entertainment. However once you truly surrender on the altar of your inner self, you can travel the universe and not leave your bedroom. Good for you and good for the planet aswell!

In Understanding.....
Hi Chris,
I found that people tend to be confused more than anything. It is true that the "Kingdom" lies within. There is no greater place of peace or understanding than what we already possess and we can go there anytime no matter what the cicumstance absolutely FREE of charge.
I say to people, if you are seeking adventure book a trip! If you seek a vacation, go within!
A few months ago I came face to face with another dreadful experience that I did not like at all! I was not thinking
"go away" or "I need to get away". Rather I asked for the light of peace within and channelled the energy.
Did channelling stop the chaos? Well no, because we do not have that control, but channelling allowed me peace in the chaos.
People need to understand that enlightenment does not occur in some corner of the planet and that enlightenment does not mean we are free from negative forces in any moment.
Enlightenment is a state of being rather than a state of mind.
Lori D. Carson
If heaven is within, need we ever travel again?
Just wondering Chris. What about travel then? If we do come to the understanding that 'Heaven is within', then need we ever leave the house again?
Lori wrote - "People need to understand that enlightenment does not occur in some corner of the planet and that enlightenment does not mean we are free from negative forces in any moment."
I was under the impression in enlightenment we were free of all things, in a state of absolute freedom. Does that not include freedom from negative forces? Any elaboration would be appreciated.
Thank you all for such a stimulating and insightful thread.

Negative Forces
Hi Turtle!
When I speak of negative forces it can come in many forms depending on the experience whether it be relations with another, with oneself, or planetary effects. All in all, its energy. Enlightenment awareness allows us to work with these energies so that we can find peace in the storm as to not succumb to these forces.
Negative forces are not to be ignored because truth is, they exist and are real! Just as real as the positive energy. Simply, they are to be accepted and embraced the same.
Turtle you are correct in saying we can find peace within these negative forces. That is an absolute!
I appologize for not clarifying this in my post.

Lori D. Carson
Do we need travel again?
Hi Turtle,
You ask if the kingdom of heaven is within us, does that mean I am implying we need never travel again? I was waiting for that one!
The answer is yes AND no - self realisation is always a wonderful paradox isn't it?!
Everything we encounter outside of ourselves is a projection of what we are being on the inside. Another way of saying that is synchonicity delivers in every moment a reflection of our beingness (although the question is are we fully present enough to interpret the messages?).
If we are at the point that we are not fully sensitive to the flows of consciousness inside and how our beingness is being generated, then we need quite 'massive', tangible experiences on the outside to really connect with our feelings.
So if we are at this vibrational level, traveling and exploring externally is likely to be very beneficial - providing we keep realising that everything we experience is merely reflecting what's happening inside.
The more we connect with the subtle inner feelings however, the more we're likely to experience that the 'louder' noises of the external experience (treking up a mountain for example) distract from the inner connection. In this case, we'll probably find that external stillness is more beneficial to us.
So whether we travel or not really depends on the vibration we're at. The higher it is, the less need to travel.
Hope this helps
Chris
Unlevel playing field
Hi Lori, Turtle et al,
If it helps, I find it more effective to speak not in terms of negative and positive energy at all because they tend to have negative and positive connotations caused by society's conditioning.
I prefer to consider it in terms of 'unity consciousness' and 'separate consciousness'. There is one energy drawing us back to unity - love - and one pulling us further away - fear. Neither is positive nor negative because without both, we could never know ourselves experientially.
What I also experience on our planet however is a third influencing force. I experience it as a controlling and manipulative energy which seeks to unsettle the balance between unity and separation.
Why would this be?
When we find internal harmony and flow naturally in the direction of higher vibrations, there is internal stillness. However, when we are unbalanced, we generate internal tightness - resistence.
This resistence acts just like a fuse releasing heat when electricity is passed through it. In our case, our internal resistance releases emotional, psychic and 'spiritual' energy - in other words we are drained of energy and this third force assimilates that energy for its own purposes. In this way, the energy can be considered 'parasitic'. I call it 'the opposition'.
The Opposition are extremely difficult to spot - they are sureptitious invading thoughts, feelings and emotions, pushing our collective buttons to release energy. They are highly evolved and thriving strongly. Take a look around you - that's why (in my opinion) the planet is in such a mess.
To me, we are no longer playing on a level playing field - it has been unbalanced for us and takes a great deal of commitment, dedication and focus to find our own internal balance once more and stay in that place.
Chris
Unity
Hi Chris!
I agree wholeheartedly with your post and relaying the comment of separate consciousness. The "Love" drawing and the "Fear" pulling.
I guess, we just have a different way of expressing it
To express: "positive/negative", "Love/Fear", Drawing/Pulling, or the ying/yang, one thing is for certain we are all one consciousness that is "Truth".

Bringing in light whilst fighting an up hill battle
Thanks for the elaboration :
The unity/separation issue interests me greatly. I am no stranger to the parasitic energy so prevalent in the field of separation . If we are on an unlevel playing field (presumably because the affairs of the world have swung so far out of balance?), then surely we are 'fighting an uphill battle'. At times I feel like I am up against some enormous opposing force. How might we most effectively stand up against these opposing forces?

Stay in the heart
Great question Turtle - probably the most important one to tackle right now.
The key is to first understand what is the ‘opposing force’ (as you describe it). Have you seen the film “The Matrix Many leading philosophers have said what a wonderful metaphor this is in describing the human condition.
You can look at the 'opposing force' as the collective mass subconsciousness of humanity that has a life all of its own (I call it 'opposing consciousness'). Collective conditioned behaviours are held in a kind of web influencing us all - this is ‘the matrix’.
If you like it contains many ancient thought and behaviour patterns and causes us to keep playing those unless we release ourselves by moving into self awareness.
The matrix has all kinds of energetic enterties opperating in it which some can sense and feel when they become sensitive enough. The matrix and collective entities thrive from the emotional energy we release when our buttons are pushed - in other words when the matrix causes us to flow against the pull of the heart.
This opposing consciousness has mastered the art of 'overshadowing' a host and then 'pushing buttons' by reading our thoughts and emotions. Most people are completely unaware this is happening. They think the thoughts feelings and emotions came from themselves alone.
Interestingly, look at the broo-ha-ha created over the supposed racial comments in the recent 'Big Brother' TV episode (notice the synchronicity?). Whilst the program received the highest ever number of complaints, viewing numbers for subsequent programs soared. It is this kind of tension that sustains the opposing influence which is very good at manipulating us. Just take a look around the planet - many choices seem to be generated from a place of hate, fear and distrust. You can even link global warming to these motivations.
So how can we become more aware of the opposing consciousness?
What is required is for us to step fully onto the path of self realisation - every choice and decision is made according to what we sense is the pull of the true self.
I'm not just talking 'big' decisions like which job to take, which partner or where to live. I'm talking about being core splittingly honest with ourselves in every moment. Why did we make that choice? Was it because of a distortion - something I thought I needed or was afraid of loosing? Or was it because I was genuinely opting to express my highest self?
If we are on this path - disciples of our higher selves - we are genuinely following the path of our hearts not our minds. When this happens, eventually we become acutely aware of our distortions that cause us to make the 'lower' choices. We might feel a genuine pull to quit our job for example but fears about how we would survive may stop us - fears prayed on by the opposing consciousness.
At this point, we really get to see how a true pull from the heart first gets distorted by our attachments and then somehow a thought, feeling or emotion causes us to make the distorted choice anyway.
In my experience, the opposing consciousness can even mimic synchronicity and inner feelings to make us believe we are following a pull from the heart.
Here's where life gets really tricky for the aspirant. The key is trust. At this point, we will have higher 'friendly consciousness' helping within the field to neutralise the effects of the matrix. They help in two ways - they will actually 'distort the distortion', in other words make it even worse so that our extreme behaviour can be more readily seen. Secondly they magnify the genuine pull of the soul so we can feel it more strongly.
The key is not to fear making the 'wrong' choices. Even if we follow a distorted choice, it will become clear to us why we followed the 'wrong' path and then providing we're staying honest with ourselves, we will be helped to step back onto our true path once more. Taking action is what really counts - if we stay stuck in old routines we never get the chance to see ourslves from a different perspective.
If we do take action, friendly consciousness - the 'home team' guiding us to ever greater self realisation - will help ensure we continue to build energy and spiritual strength so ultimately we can fight off the negative unbalancing influence.
So the answer is to ALWAYS make decisions which we percieve come from the heart, no matter what the personal cost to ourselves may appear to be. Even if we make mistakes, we will be helped to a new perspective so that we may learn to make the right choices - those which unfold who we really are despite the darkness.
Chris
NB - it has only been possible to give a very brief overview here. This subject is introduced on our course "Way of the Heart" and dealt with in detail on subsequent courses.

Dear Chris,
The explanation you offer of 'opposing consciousness' and 'friendly consciousness' resonates with me very much. I have seen the Matrix movie so interesting that you use the analogy presented in it as a model for what is going on in our world too.
If we look at the 'system' (society at large) then it seems like much of the population of the planet is walking round in a state of mental slavery, imprisoned by fears, programs and opposing influences. It does feel at times like I am living in a holgram or a program and "I" am a blip in the system.
I find your suggestion to "always" make decisions which we perceive come from the heart, and that it is OK to make mistakes as long as we are core splittingly honest with ourselves very reassuring. As you say, this honesty will always bring us back to the experience of our true selves and our true undistorted path.
Thank you also Lori. It's supportive to read your comments here too.
Love to all

Chris,Ho-ly!Awesome post!
Chris,
Ho-ly!
Awesome post! Through the roof!
This paragraph I really enjoyed, because it is so important to understand this...
you wrote...
"This opposing consciousness has mastered the art of 'overshadowing' a host and then 'pushing buttons' by reading our thoughts and emotions. Most people are completely unaware this is happening. They think the thoughts feelings and emotions came from themselves alone."
So many people say to me "I don't understand why I am feeling so nasty!." "Its not like I have encountered anything to feel this way".
Chris, ever try explaining this understanding to those who sleep..
Yikes!
Really, really good piece of material Chris!
This should be in everyone's mailbox! On recyled paper of course! Better yet, fridge magnets

Over glamourised
Thanks Lori
Your comments are much appreciated.
I do feel its important that we talk about this more - the subject either tends to get over glamorised and therefore beyond the credible or else it just gets ignored.
I intend to write much more about it.
Best wishes
Chris
Braveheart
Hi Lori,
Thanks for the thought provoking questions.
I know it is not straightforward to bring this approach of coming from nothing (beingness) into everyday day but if it was, it wouldn't be worthwhile!
I think spiritual texts and teachers have given us the stereotypical view that you have to be some 'Tibetan monk meditating on top of a mountain' to achieve this - that is not the case however.
For each of us is a unique way of being and our personalities have within a perfect alignment to this beingness when we remove the distortions (caused by our attachments).
The trouble is that so many of us who are awakening see the 'Tibetan monk' radiating like 'stadium lights' and think we have to be like that.
To me the key is to become as nothing in it all. When we are nothing, then simultaneously we are everything. We can summon the entire power of the universe to our little finger nail - or more appropriately, the entire universe can radiate through our finger nail.
"A leader is best when people barely know he exists,
when his work is done, his aim fulfilled,
they will say: we did it ourselves."
Lao Tzu
When the person in question believes they are self realising even without your input - that is real power!
So how may we apply this approach to everyday life?
You mention the boardroom for example. What I'm referring to is to stay in the centred place of stillness the whole time no matter what happens or what anyone thinks of us.
When a comment is directed at us, instead of immediately rising to respond, just wait. Overcome the fears about 'what do I say next' 'how should I respond' or believing a certain point needs to be made.
Simply wait. Have you ever seen the film 'Braveheart'? There is an awesome scene where the Scots are facing a heavy cavalry charge from the English. The horses are pounding down towards the line getting closer and closer. The Scots have a secret defence which can only be brought into action as the thunderous horses are right on top of the front line. So as the horses race towards the Scots, William Wallace (Braveheart) is stood there on the front line shouting HOLD, HOLD, HOLD. Then finaly he springs the trap just in the nick of time.
This image comes to me many times particularly in the 'board room' scenario.
So what are we waiting for? If we can just trust, overcome the nagging pulls of the ego and drop deep within the soul, then we will pick up another scene happening - we will be witnessing the synchronicity happening around us.
Then our responses come with the whole weight of the universe behind them.
Many people experience this however the tendency is then to judge their actions by the perceived outcome in terms of what they want to achieve instead of trusting what they have done and said falls into line with what the universe is trying to achieve through us.
The more we do this, the more we experience being the most incredible instrument of power beyond our wildest imagination. But instead of using a broadsword to crack a nut, the universe tends to use the fencing foil to prize it open without obliterating it.
If we are able to quieten down and come from beingness in everyday life, we'll find that energetically people take much more notice. It is our quietness that commands the deepest respect not our noise...
"When you speak, let your words be better than your silence would have been"
Kaine from the program "Kung Fu"
:silent:
If we can, then like the fencing foil analogy, we will bring exactly the right amount of light to exactly the right point at exactly the right moment without wasting an ounce of effort.
Isn't that worthwhile?

The Opening Door
Hi Chris!
BraveHeart is one of my favorite movies! Interesting how you would use this movie in particular as an example!
I do believe we are on the same script so to speak
Remaining centered is the key and that is why at times I go into observation mode in the Boardroom. It all depends on the feel in the present moment.
Chris, I agree that there are moments when the door opens so to speak where we come face to face with another who is coming into their own. The channel is open and delivery is in baby steps.
Another great delivery Chris! Thank you.
Much Love

Thank you Lori
Hi Lori,
I'm glad you like the post - by the way, I know you 'get it' - it just felt appropriate to share the way I did for the interest of others.
Thanks for your thought provoking questions - I know they are helping many. Please keep it coming!

Enjoying The Ride
Hi Chris,
I do sense the realization that the questions asked and with you bringing forward awareness to those questions is exactly where we should be
I have no doubt, others are feeling the understanding.
I have thoroughly enjoyed your technique by using examples that people can relate too in simplicity.
Much Love

Being nothing in it all?
" Being nothing in it all" comes up a lot with Openhand and sounds like an important key to bringing in more light. Is this the same as being absolutely, truly at one with everything? Or acting from a place of total stillness? Any further elaboration appreciated :

Zero points
Hi Turtle,
In my truth, the universe arises from everything - since time and space is an illusion, then all things are in any one moment arising from this everything. If you like we are as waves arising from the ocean - we are both the whole ocean and each an individual wave at the same time.
Now for everything to really be everything, it has to be infinite potential before anything happens at all. Why is this?
For any experience to happen, there has to be relativity. The experience of 'wet' for example can only be known in the presence of what 'wet' is not - 'dry'.
So if I define something, whatever I define cannot be the all of it - the everything. As soon as I do that, I create what the 'everything' is not.
Therefore for 'everything' to really be everything, it has to be that infinite potential before anything arises at all - we can call this the absolute.
Now you might ask how can there be the absolute when there is already experience? ie how can there be nothing when we already have something?
This is quite a tricky one to grasp. In the beginning (and the beginning is happening right now in every moment - because there is only one moment), there was only nothing and therefore nothing was everything (better called 'absolute' to avoid confusion about everything being something!).
Now the absolute has two possibilities. It can either stay as it is, or it can divide into parts. Given that time is/was infinite, then it is infinitely probable that both things could happen.
So the absolute 'divides' into parts - unity becomes separation. This is however notional because the space between the parts is an illusion and therefore there really is no space!
So at any one point in the space we call the universe, must be the all of it - the absolute. The universe is made up of 'zero points' - perhaps another reason why science has settled on 'the zero point field' as a way of describing the surrounding energy field.
The way to imagine this is as follows: think of every experience as a wave on an ocean. If all the waves came from the same ocean (and they did), then for each wave that forms of a particular amplitude, there must be the exactly equal and opposite wave.
If the two waves were to ever meet, the peak of one would fit perfectly into the trough of the other and they would cancel themselves out.
This is what I mean by a 'zero point'. So in anyone moment where there is experience, you for example, there is also the presence of the zero point - the absolute.
It can be experienced as the total lack of experience - in reality YOU ARE that total lack of experience and this can be known internally. It is the only thing that really exists. To me, it is what the Buddha was referring to when he spoke of 'nirvana'. It is the total liberation from separate experience and what that really means.
Now the key is to find that experience and be it the whole time. If we can do this, we notice that all authentic experience arises from it. To me, this is what it means to be in an 'enlightened state'. 'Enlightenment' is being in this state the whole time.
Hope this helps
Chris
PS, the way to really consider this explanation is to see the words as gateways into your own experience because words are really inadequate to grasp the entirety and paradoxes of the truth.
We can bring more light by switching off!
Just a quick thought, did you notice the wonderful "switch off" campaign carried out by “The Alliance for the Planet (a group of environmental associations...lAlliance)
If we can invite ordinary citizens to take a stand against global warming and use less energy, then my experience is we tend to discover greater harmony with the soul of the earth.
This leads to greater internal energetic 'attunement' - a wonderful way to bring in higher energies.
