Thanks Angel this speaks really loudly to me.

You often hear in spiritual and religious circles people praying for "God" to make things easier for us or to take away our suffering. For example I was watching a news program in the USA where the local church was gathering its congregation together to pray for rain - the state had a severe water shortage. Of course what our souls are really looking for is self realisation (not to take away the problems we created in the first place!). Its very likely that the water shortage was created by mankind's lack of self sustainability and the subsequent effect on our climate. So "God" was speaking very clearly through the synchronicity - it's certainly no coincidence that the USA is one of the highest generators of C02 in our atmosphere through its industry and way of living.

So we create in our lives exactly the circumstances we need to enable the soul to shine forth - to see our distortions and have the opportunity to peel them away. For example if we would like to be less irritable or stressed in our lives, the Universe does not simply take away all the difficulty! In fact I experience quite the reverse - more circumstances are created where stress or tightness might arise exactly so that we can practice releasing and surrendering into them.

It may appear as if the Universe is having a great cosmic joke at our expense but it is not! It reminds me of this quote that recently came to me from higher consciousness...

"There is one great cosmic joke
that we have been continually having
at our own expense through all eternity.
It is the delusion that we may find happiness,
contentment, fulfilment or love as a direct
result of something at large in
the external Universe of effects.
Finally, one magical day, the absolute
truth of causality beckons, that we are

both at the incredulity of our ignorance

I think you are so right.

Once upon a time I felt like a victim of circumstances in my life. Something changed (eventually) when I saw where they (the circumstances) were taking me. The situations all took me (ESPECIALLY the worst ones) on a journey of dropping off and leaving behind my heavy baggage.

I felt unloved - so I found love inside myself. I was given the opportunity to find true love inside of myself. No one can take that away.

I think it is the same with all situations. When natural disasters happen either people turn to chaos, or they learn to work together. They are all opportunities to find the light of our soul.

Angel I was having that exact converstaion with a friend yesterday. Society portrays that the 'victim' isn't to 'blame' and therefore so many of us unconsciously take on that role (me included I must add) in our struggles to cope with our lives.

Once we let go ...of the 'victim' in ourselves, let go of the struggling, surrender to being and learning in the moment it all changes doesn't it. Wonderful stuff!

Michelle I feel that too. Society often dis-empowers the victim by giving sympathy (by that I mean feeling sorry for someone) rather than empathising (which I see more as understanding but not being clouded and giving energy to the problem).

I read this quote (below) and I saw my own journey in it. Sometimes it takes the scorching of our wings and the knocks and bruises to make us rise above it all and find real peace. Seems like it.
