illness
Hello Everyone,
First post...
I have had MS for seven years, I can't help but want to get well, I believe I can..I accept how I am in the moment and have learnt to be more compassionate with myself. I created this reality wether I like it or not, I did not know then of course. In spite of knowing this now, I find it increasingly difficult to keep going.
This journey has pulled me through the "spiritual" path, I am not my body, I am not my mind....and all that, however I am in physical form right now, with children and desires.
What is your take on this?
Thank you,
Fabienne

Curing by transcending
Hi Fabienne,
Thanks for posting here - you are welcome to Openhand.
First let me say I have come across quite a few people with 'diseases' like MS. I've experienced enough to form a firm personal truth that all such illnesses stem from an imbalance in our energetic field. Frequently, perhaps always, this stems from our karma.
So for example, I worked with one lady who'd had quite bad symptoms throughout her body similar to MS for many years (she was in her fifties). No traditional therapy had helped her.
She came on one of the Openhand workshops and engaged in some of the Openhand free flowing deep consciousness bodywork. After about five minutes, she came up to me with a very serious and worried expression on her face - she was experiencing her head separated from her body and resting on the floor in the corner!
When I'm given to, I can 'see' other people's karma.
In this case, I saw that she had been beheaded in a past life-time. I helped gather the head (metaphorically speaking through the field) and replaced it on the body. I then worked to smooth the meridian energy field with my hands.
Within a few minutes she was back to 'normal' except much of the pain and discomfort she had felt in her body for most of her life had disappeared.
Miraculous healings like this happen frequently in this kind of work. I worked with another lady who was practically paralysed down the right side of her body (synchronistically representing her connection to spirit) and within a few hours of finishing the session began to recover movement and feeling she'd not had for most of her life.
So why do things like this happen? What is the karma that people are bringing into this life? What is it's purpose?
What was clearly common in the case of both ladies was that they'd not been living their lives aligned with their souls. In fact like most people today, they'd lived many lives out of alignment with their true destiny. Most of humanity is going around this repetitive loop life after life without truly progressing. That's why (in my opinion) there is so much illness, disharmony and dis-ease (people are simply not at ease within their own field).
In the case of the first lady who 'lost her head', the imbalance manifested itself in this lifetime as being very mind orientated - very 'in the head'. What she really needed to do was 'loose her head' (metaphorically speaking) and actually attune more to her body - especially to the heart area. In other words, she needed to come more from feeling than thought.
This would seem at first like a paradox - like the universe is having some great cosmic joke at our expense. We are 'inflicted' with great pain in our body and then required to go deeply into the feelings of the body.
But the universe is far from having a joke at our cost. We must seek to understand the purpose for all life and our incarnations in general. In my truth, the answer is as follows...
To experience ourselves as the One Life - the "Seer" - all of the time, and to express the majesty of this absolute through a unique soul."
So how can you know yourself as beyond the physical limitations of body and mind? How can you know yourself as the completeness that you are - the "Seer" of all things?
I put it to you that the ONLY way is to first experience your separation from all things - to be caused to identify with the physicality of life. Then to explore the illusionary nature of the experiences we're having by going deeply into them and not being identified with them.
It is my observation that when people go deeply into all such limiting physical experiences and really push the boundaries of their identification with them, then ultimately the bubble bursts, the karma dissolves, then right energetic order naturally restores itself.
The real key is to understand the nature of transcendence. I recently wrote this article about it which might help shed further light...
http://www.openhandweb.org/transcendence
Also, I think it would help to understand the nature of what we really are, the "Seer" of all things...
http://www.openhandweb.org/the_seer_of_all_things
I would then recommend connecting with an energy healer who also works at this level. One who comes from the place of the absolute.
I trust this helps.
With love and blessings

Your own truth
Thanks for your support Bill. I think it's also vital to add, that whenever any kind of advice is given, it is paramount that people process that advice through their own hearts and minds.
Anything the Openhand Team offers and shares is meant to be processed in this way. We don't claim to be the source of absolute truth. We are instead interpreting truth through our own vehicles of expression.
We don't claim to always be 'right'. We are catalysts to initiate internal inquiry and thereby invite people to uncover and unfold a higher version of their own truth.
As the Buddha said...
'Do not believe it because it is said
to come from God or an enlightened source,
believe it only if you've processed it
through your own heart and mind
and found it to be true yourself'
Chris
Thank you Chris and Bill. I
Thank you Chris and Bill.
I will process this. My initial response is that it makes sense within.
It goes back to surrender and having no expectations or attachments, living in the moment...
That's not always easy...But Hey, nobody said it would!
I will feedback when I have read and processed everything...
Thanks again,
It is great to be heard.

Illness - ME
Hi,
Fabienne, I like your line "It goes back to surrender and having no expectations or attachments, living in the moment..." I wish you wellbeing on your journey
Chris, thanks for the wonderful insight. When I first looked at Fabienne's post I read it as ME rather than MS. I wonder if you could shed some light on that condition also. For me it was like the physical body saying "Enough, I can't take it anymore, the busy lifestlye, perfectionism, always pushing, not listening, conditioned responses... I (the physical body) am going to take time-out until things improve and another way of living/being is found!"
As the saying goes "God whispers to us in our pleasures, but shouts in our pain"
With thanks, Fiona
Dealing with illnesses like ME
"God whispers to us in our pleasures but shouts in our pain!" So beautiful and accurate. Thanks Fiona
In fact I initially read ME and not MS too! Essentially I think all illnesses have a similar cause - an imbalance in our energy field and over identification with the physical.
In working with many awakening people, I've discovered the following as a personal truth...
people who are suffering energetic problems like ME, are beginning to connect with their soul, but then find their lives are not at all in sync with their soul.
So it's as if we have two personalities in the same body pulling in opposite directions. In most people, although they are not living in sync with their soul, it doesn't seem (on the surface) to present much of a problem because they're living the life of the false self - they're being a personality and live purely from physical energy.
However, when a person begins to awaken, they start to feel the influence of the soul in their lives inviting them to be more authentic and live the lives they were truly destined to live. Perhaps it could be living a similar life to the one they have now, but in a more authentic way.
Because in the awakening person there are now two 'personalities' (one being centred in the soul the other in the false self) both pulling in opposite directions, an internal energetic condition is established like two opposing poles on a battery - energy is discharged between them.
So for example, we may be living an exceedingly busy lifestyle where we are not really living in tune with who we truly are. We may be surrendering and dissolving too much energy to others - especially children or our careers, household or partner. It may be for example we're not honouring and truly speaking or living our truth.
It's often because people become too self-sacrificing. I frequently observe it in courses. The moment you help bring someone to a state of presence, where they can feel their soul, all they want to do is go to sleep. That's because they've literally become so internally worn out.
Many people are actually suffering these symptoms they just simply deny them or de-sensitise themselves to them either through comfort eating, drinking or just plain building an increased false identity to cope with the disorder.
However, if we are to truly cure it, I believe we must take the following steps...
I do believe if sufferers follow the above steps, it will have a powerfully transformative affect that changes lives for the better.

Disguised blessings!
Hey Chris,
Thank you for your sharing, it certainly concurs with my experience. Your steps feel very apt and useful. I can certainly identify with the first and letting go of the need to control. I found getting the balance right at step 3 particularly challenging, to do something that brought me joy, like going for a walk or speaking with a friend without overdoing it and becoming exhausted again!! A real lesson in listening to my higher truth!
In retrospect the "ME experience" was an enormous blessing, though challenging at the time. I learned a great deal, my lifestlye changed radically, my eating habits became far healthier, I felt enormous gratitude for the support and love from family and friends, I developed a huge appreciation for the simple things in life, like being able to walk to my front gate
I slowed down hugely and as I did so I could see so much beauty everywhere, I came more into the moment... the list could go on...
In this moment I feel huge gratitude and am reminded that "It takes both rain and sun to make a rainbow!"
With love, Fiona
Hi Everyone, It is quite
Hi Everyone,
It is quite commun that people make this mistake and think that these illnesses are similar. They are very different even if some of the symptoms can look similar.
In the "spiritual realm", probably the approach to any illness is the same.
Reconnecting with one's soul, surrender and acceptance.
Eckhart Tolle says that the question:Am I friendly with this moment? can be a good reminder, I think so.
The truth is many people recover from ME, few do from MS, but it is not impossible. Belief is a big factor too. Then again, having beliefs, even positive ones, can be limiting as they can create resistance.
There are many factors, karma may be one, although I have explored this, I have never had any connection with a past life.
I have felt the weight of ancestral beliefs and judgements and done some work about this.
I have also considered the biological laws of nature (German New Medicine/Metamedecine/biological decoding). I have experienced this as a powerful influence, that I ignored because I thought I was a 21st century woman with a psychological approach to life...The irony is that feminism or psychology means nothing to our archaic brain part.
"I put it to you that the ONLY way is to first experience your separation from all things - to be caused to identify with the physicality of life. Then to explore the illusionary nature of the experiences we're having by going deeply into them and not being identified with them."
What you said here Chris, although I understand the words, I don't know how to do this...every movement I make brings me back to my physicality. In one reference you tell us about your experience with rowing and how you go into the pain, etc...I believe it is totally different when one is well and surmounts a chosen pain. Also, it's not always pain, it is discomfort and inability to do certain basic things.
Fiona, thank you for your good wishes, in my experience, I have also seen all the wonders of change, of appreciating the simple things, however there has been a huge clearing, this experience has isolated me because not many people are on the same wave length. There is a lot of resistance to this way of seeing things.
Thank you for now,
Fabienne
Debilitating illness
"I have had MS for seven years, I can't help but want to get well, I believe I can..."
So how do you believe you can get well again?
Years ago, a friend of mine had a brain tumour. She'd been told she had a matter of months (if that) to live. She was basically told that she was going to die! Something happened. She checked herself out of the hospital, went home and let go of anything that she'd been told. She followed her heart and it guided her to immediately change her diet (in her case she went to eat exclusively raw vegan food) and really live. Her health was dramatically turned around, the tumour disappeared. That was many many years ago.
I don't know the science of MS, but I have heard of countless people defying the laws of science because they feel such a powerful upwelling of something within their hearts.
I have never exerienced MS although I have actually experienced a debilitating hormonal illness. I doubt that it will ever fully go away but I have learned to find 'serenity in the storm' of the suffering and find my gifts of beingness despite it. I realised that it was divinely given to me for a reason.
I have found that the keys to my 'salvation' and purpose in life lie at the heart of it. It is only through feeling the pain and suffering within every cell of my being and finding the Light of the Universe beyond that, that I have managed to work with it so that I can function with light in my heart.
It is ONLY through 'pure presence' that I can transcend it. There is no other way. What an invitation! What an invitation for all of us.
Sending a heart full of Love your way
Trinity

Thank you Trinity,
I guess I am already being and doing all I can at this time, within my understanding. I just seem to chose the hard way.
The answer is within...
