Is Telepathy possible?

Anyone experienced it? Views? Explanations?

Yes, telepathy is real

Hi Liberation,

Yes I have experienced telepathy and regularly do with certain people. As you know, we are one consciousness - 'unity consciousness' as some call it. When we have processed out many or most of our own conditioned thought programs then we become more aware of the impact of untiy consciousness within our bodies. In otherwords we become much more sensitive.

Once we know ourselves well enough, then it is possible to turn one's attention to another person and to experience some of what they are experiencing within our own body/minds. To give you an example, I used to get very nervous before running workshops. This was because I was running a program to do with lack of self esteem which became self consciousness in public - the program was written during my upbringing by lack of unconditional love. However, early in my unfolding this was one of the programs that was dissolved out revealing a hidden gift - one of self awareness (all distortions reveal hidden gifts in this way).

This means that in group work I became able to be aware of what others were feeling without identifying with that feeling myself. On one particular firewalking workshop, I remember the feeling inside of nervousness and fear - my whole body was shaking and I had to work hard not to let it effect me. It would have been easy to identify and associate with the feeling thinking it was me being nervous - revealing the old conditioning.

However, I quickly realised that the lady sitting next to me was terrified of the work we were about to do and I was picking up her energy. The more you clear yourself out inside the more this happens.

In truth it happens to us all it's just that because we are not fully familiar with ourselves we don't frequently realise we are picking others up and not ourselves. I have many more similar stories.

Best wishes

Chris

Quite a responsibility

Thanks for the response. It does seem, if one had this talent, that its implications are potentially quite significant. In a sense, if one could effectively read other people's minds, and they are not necessarily able to do the reverse, it's a bit like phone-tapping and there would be moral obligations not to abuse such an ability. I would guess it is easier if the other party explicitly wants to communicate and equally you open up to them so it is truly a two-way communication.

Maybe, in a sense, in unity conciousness we have no secrets. If we are all one, then what's to hide?

Responsibility comes with oneness

Yes Liberation I believe you are absolutely right.
The nice twist is that when we have cleared enough internally and we have emptied out false identity, then there comes with oneness complete compassion. Why would anyone wish harm to another part of themselves?

However it is something that cannot be rationalised with the mind - it has to be felt. When oneness is truly felt, then compassion arises naturally and with that comes responsibility.

Responsibility is an interesting concept though - in a way it is a dichotomy. On one hand as we empty out, we get to know the absolute where nothing at all matters - and therefore responsibility is not necessary. On the other hand, we know the illusionary world of the relative - in this place, to those who have not yet discovered unity consciousness, their pain and suffering is very real. Therefore a part of ourselves is suffering pain. Therefore there is responsibility.

This is the divine dichotomy or 'duality' I spoke of in the other topics. The more we empty out the more we feel the pain of others but the less it matters!

Talking to the animals

Hi Liberation,

Telepathy isn't straight forward.

I have a unique connection with nature, which could be called telepathy. I sense emotions and particular energies of animals and plants. In this way I have a telepathic understanding and communication with many animals. At times, it feels as if etherically I become at one with an animal, and so, I come to understand how it feels and what is going on for it internally at the time. This happens sometimes with people too. Because of this, I experience very deep levels of compassion for nature, and humankind.

Mutant Message Downunder - Marlo Morgan

Hi Liberation,

your posts reminded me of the above book, if you haven't read it I recommend it as a short and delightful story of an american woman travelling across Australia with a tribe of Aborigines, encountering the depth of their native ways.

The Real People (as she calls them)communicate telepathically "because above all they never tell a lie.... They are a group of people who are not afraid to have their minds open to receive and are willing to give one another information." I think it also says somewhere that they only use their voices for singing to express joy - I love that concept!

I believe it is fiction, but it contains many truths and is a heartwarming read.

Connection to animals

As Lesley recommended a book to me, perhaps I can suggest one to Ana. This is Shamanic Wisdom by Dolfyn, publ. Earthspirit Inc. I recommend it as I see it as very relevant to someone who "senses emotions and particular energies of animals and plants". The uniqueness of the book is that it starts from the assumption that all living creatures are genuinely equal, and that humanity does not alone have a monopoly on truth, wisdom, and beauty.

You don't have to go along with the details of the shamanic practices described, it's really the deep respect the author has for the non-human world which comes across in simple language and is so genuinely inspiring.

I got my copy at a really interesting shop in London's King's Road called Wilde Ones, and it's also available via Amazon .

Mutant Message

I read "Mutant Message down under" too and it's a wonderful book. It may well be fiction but so much of it resonates that it feels to me like it is based on truth.

To me the ending offers a very interesting prophecy on the ascension of the 'real people' - I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it!

Constellation work

In the Openhand work we use some telepathy principles heavily influenced by the wonderful pioneering work known as 'Constellations'. This is an intuitive process first used to resolve relationship problems.

How it works is that you employ two complete strangers to represent the various people having the relationship problems. The strangers have no prior knowledge of the people they represent at all and have never met.

The two strangers then approach one another or are positioned by a guide close to one another. They are then each asked to report what they are feeling. The technique reveals many deep issues going on in the relationship.

I have personally experienced it in business where for example one person represents business strategy A and the other B. Each in turn approaches a third person representing a prospective client. The client then reports what he feels about the two strategies.

The result was amazing and the company was able to finalise a strategy in the space of a couple of hours when they had been labouring in indecision for the last several months.

On "Unveiling the true self" - Openhand's first level course - we get a complete stranger to represent the true self of each participant and then to approach each of them and say what they feel. It is very powerful in revealing hidden blockages and telling someone where they need to focus in their evolutionary process.

Constellation work in my view can be conisdered as telepathy.

Conversations with the desert... Yes, telepathy does exist

I remember lying in meditation on a rock in the Egyptian desert earlier this year. My conscious awareness literally sunk through the rocks and connected with the energy of the Sinai region. I begun to feel and sense the Spirit of the desert. The area was supposedly a holy sacred place at one point, but the relentless flow of insensitive tourists, and some negligent local desert people had taken its toll on the region. I received visions and along with a forgiving recounting of mankinds blatant disrespect....

Apart from that, when I had closed my eyes and opened into meditation, the sky had been bright blue, without a cloud in sight. During the meditation I saw visions of white clouds flowing from the centre of my being into the blue sky forming a most beautiful formation overhead. After the meditation I fully expected to open my eyes and see a clear blue sky, but to my surprise, the the sky looked exactly like the vision I had seen in meditation. When we see visions that become manifest in the third dimensional world, we are receiving a telepathic communication.

This happens frequently (in my personal experience) in various forms, so I have no doubt that telepathy is real. Once the mind gets out the way it becomes more prolific and like all things, works much more efficiently when it comes without a personal agenda.

Animal Telepathy

Anyone interested in this can look up work done by Cambridge University professor, Rupert Sheldrake. He discovered that dogs who wait for their owners by looking out the window or whatever, start waiting when their owners make the decision to come home. So in his studies, sending the owners home at random times by different modes of transport etc didn't fool the dogs. He also has video footage of an amazing parrot in the US who can easily demonstate his telepathy. His owner taught him a vocabulary of several hundred words so they had always had "conversations" however she discovered he was telepathic one night whilst having a dream. In the dream she wanted to turn off some annoying music on her sound system and was not able to do anything about it. The parrot (who perched on her bed post)woke her shouting "press the button, press the button." Rupert Sheldrake went over to meet them and put two video recorders each in a separate room in their flat and had the owner in one room, the parrot in the other. When the owner opened some envelopes containing photographs, the parrot had to say what she could see, which he did accurately and immediately. It is truly awesome to watch, and also very funny.

What amazing creatures we share the earth with, yet they are so misunderstood just because they don't normally speak our language.

Children's telepathy

Thanks for that Lesley... great to see you here :Innocent The studies you mention sound really interesting (not to mention amusing).

It reminded me of an occasion years ago when I was carrying my son (9 months old at the time)!

I bashed my finger, the pain was excruciating, but since my son was in my arms (and a somewhat sensitive soul) I decided to conceal the pain from him, in an attempt to not freak him out. But to my surprise he let out an almight scream of pain on my behalf holding out the exact finger on his hand that I had bashed on mine!!!

I learnt a big lesson in honesty. It is very common for a child to express the unexpressed emotion of a parent, or those they are close to.

Wonderful story

Hi Lesley,

That's wonderful story.

A good friend of mine was doing a photo shoot of a pride of Lions in Africa for National Geographic magazine. They had a Kalahari Bushman tracking the animals for them. Over the weeks of the shoot, they got to know the pride very well which was lead by an male with a scar on its nose.

On one particular occasion they lost track of the animals until eventually the Bushman found part of one of the lion's footprints at a waterhole. He contemplated for a short while (meditated would be more precise) and then said words to the effect "last night they caught a zebra and having consumed it, came here for water. After drinking, they went 2 km North West behind that huge sand dune. You'll find the lion with the scar behind the dune shading under a lone tree".

The Bushman had stayed with them the whole time so had no prior knowledge. When they circled around the sand dune, sure enough there was the pride with the scar faced male under the tree just as described.

When we have really emptied outselves inside, then we start to loose our attachment to identity and especially our own dramas. At this point, our consciousness opens up and 'expands' - in truth we were never disconnected from unity consciousness its just we struggle to perceive it when our minds and emotions are active. When we quieten inside, we begin to perceive more and more. Eventually we become 'at-one' with everything in our surroundings.

It also helps greatly if the vibrational frequency of the environment is high. In our so called developed world, there is much interference from many things such as electro-smog from all the gadgets we use especially mobile phones.

Row at British Association for the Advancement of Science

Some papers on the paranormal were recently presented at the British Association for the Advancement of Science conference, and have rather stirred up a hornet's nest: read all about it in The Times article.

Some scientists can be as dogmatic and intolerant as any religious authority.

Science meets spirituality

Yes, indeed... thanks for that! The marriage between conventional science and spiritual matters is certainly a fascinating topic. It typically seems to invite much opposition.

Controversial research

Maybe the scathing sceptics should ask themselves what they fear?
Closed minds indeed, and sadly, (in my view) typically representative of many of their peers.

I find it very uplifting to see scientists who are brave and passionate enough to carry out research into parapsychology and the paranormal. It must be so difficult to get funding, then when the publish they are likely to be treated like lepers and face disparaging comments from the mainstream academics which are nothing but blatant attempts to discredit controversial work.

"There's no evidence for that!" is the regular cry of scientists who are actively failing to see the mounting evidence being presented simply because they refuse to accept it.

Well done the BA and the Scientific and Medical Network for bringing light in the darkness.

re: Controversial research

I agree with you Lesley. My heart goes out completely to anyone who finds it within themselves to stand up for their truth.

It would indeed be interesting to hear what the sceptics fear. They would not be so concerned if they didn't feel that the entire foundation upon which they had built their careers were being threatened by another side of the story. Sad!

Our primary sense before sequential thoughts

Seems that we are conditioned from the youngest age to use words, and process thoughts into sequential patterns within our brains. I feel that telepathy is our primary sense, and we are born with it, as it comes before speech and concepts of time and space arise.

This is probably why animals are so intune telepathically. We are all born with it, we just usually forget. For some people it seems like a curse to be aware of their telepathic capabilities, for some it is a blessing.

A real example

Recently a mother with a very young child told me about an indcident where she accidentally cut her finger, and her child yelled out and held up exactly the same finger. There was a clearly some unconventional communication going on there.
