Many religions would have us believe their way is the only way to access the divine but, God speaks to us in many ways. Music is one of them. Artists are often connected to their higher selves when they compose music and therefore some song lyrics can be truly soul-full. This is why great lyrics resonate with many people. Here is a song lyric by U2 that is special to me...

"It's a beautiful day.
What you don't have,
you don't need it now,
what you don't know
you can feel it somehow.
It's a beautiful day...
don't let it get away."

For me it says many things...
Firstly we have the choice to be positive about each day - we have the choice to experience each day as beautiful no matter what may unfold. "Our experience of the world is the outcome of our idea about it" - an event that may appear as unpleasant is only unpleasant if we choose to experience it as such. It is possible to 'reframe' any event, no matter how bad, and experience it as positive. You have the opportunity to choose what an event is saying about your 'beingness'. In other words, each event provides you with the opportunity to define and create who you are in that moment. Do you choose to be negative, worried or fearful? or do you choose to be positive, loving, creative? Adversity presents us with the best opportunity to manifest the best part of ourselves and in that way, we should be thankful for adversity. So choose to make each day a beautiful day from the beginning and don't let it get away!

Secondly the lyric says in this moment of now, you have absolutely everything you need - if this wasn't true, you wouldn't be here! So don't be wanting anything that you don't already have - this will liberate you.

Finaly, our true essence - our spirit - is beyond definition. It can only be sensed and felt. Our spirit is manifested from the infinite possibility but, when it is manifest, it is no longer infinite. The more you define it, the more finite and less than the whole it becomes. Therefore seek not to define it but, sense it.

It is the same with God (for God and we are all one). If the spiritual form of God was to appear to you today in the form of a mystical figure (take for example Gandalf from 'Lord of the Rings') you might say "that is God and he looks like this". But God is everything and so chooses not to manifest in any single thing but manifests in the all of it. You can see, sense, touch, taste, hear God everywhere and when you do, life becomes magical - 'what you don't know, you can feel it somehow'.
