Lisa Gerrard
I find it amazing to post a small contribution on this site. I recently discovered the magical music of LISA GERRARD. The Gladiator song 'Now we are free' was for many years a favourite song of mine, but only the last few days, I found out what an array of beautiful, inspiring music this australian born women has made. She must have walked through all 5 gateways (in the sense Chris means)a long time ago to be able to confront me with her music like she did: as an angel from heaven!
Googling to learn more about my new idol I stumbled on an intriging translation of the before mentioned song on this site. And on this site my wife and I now have joined the community. We are walking the same journey in an other country. We feel connected. We feel at home here. Please respond.

Welcome Eric
Welcome to Openhand Eric (and wife
). I am delighted to hear that you both feel at home here and feel inspired by the Five Gateways approach. There is a treasure trove full of activity going on.
The song 'Now We are Free' is soul stirring indeed, cleary inspired by divine consciousness. It invites us so powerfully to find the same within ourselves.
Warmly

Lisa Gerrard
I'm listening to her music (and "Dead can dance" music) since the age of ~15-16, and it was one of the most comforting, uplifting things in my dark life back then. Like it took me to some other place...it was awakening things in me I couldn't understand..only much later, when I was ~26 I could understand what it was..
Later, only recently I got interested who she is and found out that she is definitely "sparkled with spirituality"...Many would agree that this voice sounds "not human", or maybe "too human"? Maybe it's the truth singing?
Here are some of the most inspiring for me (I prefer to listen with my eyes closed), these are also going to demonstare more or less the adversity of the beautiful things their/her music can wake up inside:

Sorry for bombarding you with many links, but as I feel it, it's just so high, that I think you can't not feel it and not follow.. so for those who are unfamiliar with this music, I think it deserves a try...
Loreena McKennitt
Hi folks
Also check out Loreena McKennitt for some fabulously beautiful music that touches the heart.
To one and all without exception...blessings.
Muttley.
Loreena
I agree with Muttley - love her music, too.
My most favourite song is "Dante's Prayer" which is full of depth and sadness (makes me cry every time). I later learnt she wrote it after her fiancé and another good friend had died in a boating accident.
Joanna Newsom 81
Hi tasneem
That's really sad about Loreena McKennitt - but still a beautiful song in its own right.
Go to Youtube and look up Joanna Newsom 81. There's a post on there which has the lyrics by HaveOneOnMe. (They actually have the lyrics for all her songs).
Joanna is a totally enchanting human being, and if you like her songs, good to listen to. She is an acquired taste for some, tho.
See what you think.
To one and all without exception - blessings
Muttley.
