If like me you've been watching the heart rending images of the earthquake victims in Haiti, you might be wondering why life suddenly seems to have come to a grinding halt there? Yes there's been devastation, but why are the Islanders unable to quickly respond to it? It's all about society's lack of resilience. Over the last 200 years, Haiti has been swallowed into the Developed Nations food and energy machine, so if disaster strikes, there's little to do, but sit around and wait for help. To me, global inter-dependency based on Industrial Agriculture is the greatest human disaster of our time. We would all do well to heed the synchronistic warnings...

Yes we can!
Was it really only a year ago that Obama swept to power on a wave of "Yes we can euphoria"? Gosh, the clock is really ticking! And just twelve months later, a mere blink of the eye, his poll ratings in America have dropped to 50% and are still falling. So much so, that a strong Democrat seat held for many years by Teddy Kennedy, has now swung back to the Republicans. People are already beginning to speak of a 'lame-duck' President, that he might now struggle to push through much needed policies. So what went wrong? Why did the gloss so quickly peel away? In my view, it is all down to highly misplaced expectation and forgetting that the only real way to change our world, is not by fumbling with external effects, but the internal causes. The only sure way of changing our world is from the inside out...

To pick the best fruit in life, we have to be prepared to go out on a limb.

At Openhand we don't believe in prophecy because the moment shapes according to the thoughts, emotions and choices we each express in the moment. However, we can look at movements of energy and see where the trend appears to be taking us. Tuning in during meditation yesterday, I was given the knowing "Three Big Years" ahead. I have the strong feeling that 2010, 2011 and 2012 are going to be monumental in terms of the shift of planetary and human consciousness. I believe strongly that there are no better times than these to really tune in, peel back the layers of limitation and truly expand our consciousness..."
