"Serenity in the storm"

Many in the UK have just enjoyed the bank holiday - a long weekend where hopefully people get to experience a greater degree of inner peace and freedom from the whirlwind of our high tech world. However as we return to work, the shortened week can add pressure with the perceived need to meet targets, deadlines or appointments. There is no escaping the ‘pull’ to do things even if you consider yourself to have escaped the controlling matrix of collective human thought forms...

However to struggle internally against these pressures and demands is to give added weight to them. By seeking to be above, beyond or separate from “them” is to make “them” only stronger and therefore we are more the prisoner of “them”. Serenity is not freedom from the storm but peace within it. It maybe that the chosen pathway of your true self is to experience the pressures of society - the so called ‘real world’ - to know that you are not defined by it, you cannot be dictated to by it and that you are the master of it rather that its victim.

In other words, to be yourself in whatever storm may arise all the while inwardly knowing that you are unity consciousness - the absolute - which pervades everything in the illusionary relative world.

Perhaps it is more accurate to say that you are not in a storm, but the storm is within you.
If we can take this perspective when life gets really hectic, the chances are we will endure more easily within it and at the same time, feel no need to be removed from it. After all, to be at the centre of the storm may be our destiny.

So this week instead of being buffeted by the storm, may you enjoy watching it within you!
