"Helping people evolve spiritually and ascend into a higher vibrational reality based on unconditional love, joy and mutual respect for all life."
"The only way out is through.." - Alanis Morisette
God speaks to us in many ways. Music is one of them. Artists are often connected to their higher selves when they compose music and consequently some can be very soul-full. That's why certain lyrics resonate with many people. Here's a powerful lyric recently released by Alanis Morissette...
"Everytime that I'm confused I think there must be easier ways
Everytime our horns are locked I'm towel throwing
Everytime we're at a loss we've bolted from difficulty
Anytime we're in a stalemate, a final bowing
My tendency to want to hide away feels easier and
The immediacy of picturing another place, comforting to go but I know.
The only way out is through
The faster we're in the better
The only way out is through
The only way we'll get better"
An interpretation of the lyrics:
I believe we have nothing to achieve during our time here in this place other than to manifest the grandest expression of our inner selves and to find a way of being that has no fear of expressing the truth about ourselves in every moment. No fear of telling others what we think and feel - especially loved ones, colleagues and friends.
It is sometimes very hard to believe but, every moment in our lives is pre-sent. The famous spiritualist Caroline Myss calls them 'sacred contracts' that we agree with one another even before we come here. Each moment offers an opportunity to express our true beingness but we confuse this with having 'to do things'. Having to work, having to play, having to love. In allowing these perceived responsibilities to take hold of us, we mistakenly believe there must be an outcome to each event that yields a result our lower selves would wish for - a better job, more pay, a bigger house, a better relationship etc etc.
If we look back on our lives we see a pattern emerging with the same type of incidents happening again and again. For example, someone who believes that their happiness depends on being in relationship with another and yet they are not happy and content to be by themselves. Consequently the universe keeps sending partners that appear to be right but are not. The pattern continues to repeat itself. Why? Because the 'sacred contract' for this person being enacted out is to realise that their wholeness comes from within not by replacing perceived emptiness by something or someone else.
There is nothing to fear by being alone. In truth we are never alone. In aloneness we experience all-oneness. However, what we resist persists. How can we release ourselves from these patterns of behaviour - these incidents that unbalance us time and again? Here are 7 steps that work for me..
- Accept that no particular outcome is required from any incident/moment other than for you to manifest the grandest expression of your beingness.
- While you are in the incident, sense your inner most feelings and hidden thoughts - the one's you would normally 'sweep under the carpet'.
- If there is something about yourself you don't like, identify it, reflect on it. Expose it to yourself. Get comfortable with it, know that it is not you.
- Reflect on the origin of the feeling or pattern of thought. Could it have come from your parents which they in turn inherited from their parents or did it come from the wider society? Realise it is not your fault so don't judge yourself for it. Accept the 'fault' as an aspect of perfection, a landmark on the path leading to full self-realisation. It was given to you as a means by which you can evolve and therefore admire it. Love it.
- Then decide if the pattern of behaviour no longer serves you. If it does not, decide in that moment to transform it into something better. Decide what the 'better' is.
- Then inhale deeply. As you inhale feel the new aspect of yourself taking shape. As you exhale, feel the old aspect being released. Do this several times over several days. Know that you are becoming the 'new you'. Say to yourself "I am that I am" in relation to the new aspect of yourself.
- Ground this new aspect into your daily life in everything that you do - don't allow the old pattern back in. If the old pattern begins to creep back in, repeat the exercise until it ceases.
If you accept the opportunity and expect no outcome from any incident other than the chance to grow, life will become truly magical. Every incident in your life will be successful.
Remember..
"The only way out is through
The faster we're in the better
The only way out is through
The only way we'll get better".
