Credit crunch over...resource crunch begins
So what will our collective history show as humanity's response to the credit crunch? That we saw it as a last minute warning on the unsustainability of our current society? That we should completely restructure the way we live to bring it back into line with Gaia and her natural eco-systems? NO!!! Instead we decided to print more money and accelerate the industrial consumption machine. The result is we're heading even more rapidly to a global resource crunch of water, food and energy over the next few decades. Here at Openhand we've long encouraged people to question the long term viability of our current society, to go within, transcend the limitations of time and space, and unfold into the new paradigm which exists here and now all around us. The clock is ticking, there is no time to delay...

Resource crunch begins
I have to say I've long been slightly irritated by the commonly held New Age view on abundance; work such as "The Secret" encouraging us to use spiritual laws to manifest the material things we may want in life.

In our workshops I often relate to the 'parking angel' analogy...sure, we can easily manifest that parking space right outside the supermarket if we want to. What happens though to the old, disabled lady who was supposed to have it instead?

It is the same with the current situation in terms of our global resources. We are all interconnected and every intention we set lose effects EVERY sentient life form on the planet. What gave us the right to decide for everyone else?

You won't read about it too much in the mainstream press right now, but our ever spiraling consumption to feed society's conditioned habits is denuding our natural resources at an exponential rate. "Resource Wars" are breaking out across the globe as corporate giants ride rough-shod over indigenous populations, slashing down rain forests and accelerating global warming in the process.

The Tipping point
Many environmentalists are beginning to speak of "The Tipping Point" where the accelerated destruction of our eco-systems goes past the point of no return. In my heart, when I look and feel what is going on all around us, I know we are fast approaching that point. I am losing the final remnants of any faith that world political leaders have the courage and vision to really tackle the issues head on.

So to me, the future of humanity in this plain of consciousness is looking increasingly untenable. BUT I AM NOT AFRAID!!! And there is no reason for any light worker to be afraid either. I know in my heart that the collapse of the current system is divinely destined. As painful as that will be for some, a doorway is opening for us all to a more perfected paradigm where there is energetic harmony between all sentient life.

I feel that as we pass the marker 2012, the Gateways to the higher paradigm will become fully active and the breakdown of the old paradigm will become ever more apparent in the immediate years ahead.

The outer mirror
To get to this new, more highly evolved state of being, we must go within AND KEEP GOING WITHIN. Whatever the outer drama throws up for us, we must keep remembering it is but a mirror. In the years ahead, we're going to see the impact of society's unsustainability and its not going to look very pleasant.

As we look in the mirror, we'll be presented with many golden opportunities to see that which no longer serves us and let it go. Even as material life becomes increasingly difficult, we'll still be able to see the lightness of unconditional love through it all. The key is to keep tuning into the lightness, WHATEVER is happening in our field of view, even if the outer circumstances become increasingly uncomfortable...

The Final chapter
So I'm given to say we're opening the first page of the final chapter for humanity in this plain of consciousness. The resource crunch is beginning to kick in. It feels to me like our destiny in this plain has passed from our hands and into Gaia's. In other words our destiny here has become fated. Humanity hasn't been a great tenant and the landlord is reclaiming her keys!

However, lets be really clear...no one in higher consciousness is judging humanity for that - certainly not Gaia. In many ways it is not our fault, we are not to blame.

So what happens next? Our movement is to evolve and grow, to go within, release the shackles of limitation and expand into the new paradigm. The last train is standing in the station and the whistle is blowing. Will you join us?
