Human Origins

How did we really evolve?
On the surface, our evolution step-by-step from the apes has been heavily researched and documented. Anthropologists would have us believe our original ancestors were two legged homonoids that first stood upright around 4 million years ago. And yet there are still many missing links in our fossil records. A growing lobby of independent researchers are saying for example the change from early pre-humans to Homo Erectus around 200,000 years ago was just too great and too sudden for it to be a simply natural evolutionary process. So what are our origins exactly? These are incredibly exciting times where much of our convoluted past is coming to light. Especially since we are now able to look deeper into the Human Genome...

Bringing in the Divine - are you grounded?

Coming back to Earth

I have always been somewhat 'ethereal' in nature, very comfortable in higher realms. In the past, it always seemed that I only need to close my eyes to transcend the limitations of the third dimension. Now it is with me always.
Being ‘etheric’ presented a lot of challenges in the early days of awakened life. Something that I learned early on (the hard way!) was the importance of being grounded...

Void of Silence... Into Enlightenment

We're living in an illusion. But it's a very real illusion, a very noisy one. Our lives are full of busyness and external distraction like no other time in the history of mankind. It's as if everything created has been purposefully designed to pull us into the external drama, to tempt us, to invest us, to entrap us. The paradox is, that every external 'entertainment' is but a reflection, often quite a distorted one, of an end goal that each soul is really, ultimately looking for. It's a place of absolute perfection, crystal clear clarity. It is infinite potential yet absolutely empty. It is the beginning, the end, and everything in between. It is the Void of Silence...

Fear not. Everything is Perfect!

Here at Openhand we're truly blessed to connect with kindred spirits in the awakening movement around the world. Whilst we're all on a unique path, so many of your stories bear the hallmarks of similarity: many of us are looking at the mess humanity has gotten itself into and wondering how we're going to 'part the waves' and find passage to a new shore. To me, everything is going perfectly according to the divine 'plan'. Yes there's certainly more financial instability on the way, yes climate change is accelerating and yes natural resources are dwindling and getting ever more expensive. But to me, these are exactly the conditions we need. It's not the status quo that needs to be preserved - not business as usual - rather the system needs to breakdown to provide more freedom for expansionary growth...

Compassion as a key to Ascension

St Francis, was an incarnated angel of compassion, and has had a special place in my heart throughout the aeons. When I immerse myself in nature, walking in the woods, he'll frequently appear. He'll transform into an earthly presence, as if breathed into being through the breath of the trees. We'll walk together, delighting in the vibrations of light as it flickers through the trees. We'll feel the Angels' chorus singing the birds into life, whilst an ethereal pulse enlivens a gentle breeze that ignites the whole forest with Love. In these moments, time ceases to be. That moment is eternal...

Understanding the Moment

What does "Being in the Now" really mean?
It’s almost 'old-spiritual-hat' to speak of 'being in the moment' these days. New-Age bookshelves are brimming with suggestions of how to let go of the past, forget the future and simply "be in the now". Yet what if every distortion conceals a hidden truth? If I regret something of the past, then perhaps I’m still carrying it’s energetic lesson just waiting to be uncovered? And if I have one foot in the future, perhaps I'm already intuiting the flow of events yet to fully take shape? Maybe then, there’s much more to this 'moment of now' that we’re not fully giving credit to?...

Creating from Higher Mind

How to manifest authentically
Consciousness and matter are the same thing: we shape and change matter from what we're being within. In some teachings though, we feel this ancient truth has been taken a step too far; trying to shape circumstances to manifest a new, apparently more desirable reality. There's simply no need to do this. Our higher selves, intune with the Divine Design are already shaping a far more miraculous, far more harmonious and far more loving than our lower egos could ever dream of. And all we have to do is open to Higher Mind and bring that authentic dream into reality. So how does authentic creating from Higher Mind really work?...

Redefining Relationships

The consciousness shift is challenging relationships to evolve
Our consciousness shift is hotting up. People are unwinding, unfolding and breaking free from eons of constraint. It's a truly wonderful movement to behold. I feel blessed to be here during these times of profound change. But it's a double edged sword too. In many cases it's generating untold pressure within families and relationships: it's causing great friction and sometimes even tearing them apart. What can we do about this? I feel strongly in my heart we need to redefine the very nature of relationships...

Flying on the wings of vulnerability

Do you sometimes find doubt difficult to overcome?
Quite frequently in the coaching I do, the question of doubt arises. Doubt in ourselves, doubt in our work, relationships and spiritual path. Doubt in the benevolent redeeming hand of the universe. It seems that when we first realise the benevolent presence of a unifying energy, we believe, hope or expect "everything will turn out just fine, it'll all be as we want it to". And if it doesn't, when it doesn't turn out that way, all too frequently we're led back down the ladder of doubt to the lower rung we began from. So what's happening here? How do we break the cycle? The answer is 'flying on the wings of vulnerability'...

The Vinegar Tasters According to the Tao of Pooh

The wisdom of Lao Tzu meets Pooh

Uusally the deepest and insightful stories come about the nature of reality to us the most playful of ways. I love the story of 'The Vinegar Tasters'. It offers three distinctive perspectives on life and profound insight into perception and awareness. An excellent metaphor!
So which vinegar taster are you?

Here is an entertaining excerpt from Benjamin Hoff's 'Tao of Pooh'...
