What is the anatomy of the soul?

My son asked me a really interesting question, which was so telepathic and attuned to what I could sense around me... He asked me " If my friend was on the other side i.e in heaven, how could he also (simultaneously) be here on earth in a different body with a new life''?

This is a question that I have thought and thought about for so long. Why is it that I would feel my friends reincarnation on earth in a new body, yet simulatnoeously still have communications with him and feel him now and again, not like I did.

FRom what I understand to believe is that a huge part of our soul stays in light and like a diamond infiltates downwards, maybe having parellel lives at differemnt times.I grasp bits of this and sometimes catch an essence of feeling this myself. It's more like we meet this when we are in a state of Pure beingness/Cosmic beingness.

I was reading on the Anatomy of the Spirit that the soul is not a unified entity. It is a composite structure like that of an orange. There are many ‘cotyledons’ in one soul. There is a suggestion that more cotyledons are added as each spirit matures with wisdom. That means each composite soul is multifaceted and multidimensional. Whilst still in the spirit world, this total composite soul is called a spirit. Before the spirit (beingness) arises from the Absolute, there is no knowledge of individuality. It is pure universal consciousness. As soon as I am is formed the spirit becomes an individual consciousness. Now it is time to enter into the time-space continuum i.e. earth. This process of coming into the world is repeated many times. However, at each incarnation only a small percentage of the spirit is sent down to experience life. This small portion of spirit is called jiv-atman (incarnated soul). This soul is still part of and strongly attached to its own spirit (the composite soul). The main reason why the spirit sends down only a small percentage is because while gathering experience and love, it also has to work out the karma it has accumulated from past lives. In the Absolute, there is no karma because there is no individual. Karma can only be earned when I am exists. At the peak of experience after many lives when suffering and sorrow are untenable the individual decides to opt out of the rat race. At this stage his total karma is too large to be cleared in one life. So only a portion is sent down in each incarnation to be dealt with, but new karma earned in that life will also be added to the total karma of the individual. During these earthly incarnations, experiences and gathering of love and wisdom must also be carried out. So how does the individual spirit deal with this heavy load? It is dealt with by apportioning out a percentage of the spirit to each incarnation.

So might that explain how w can still communicate on the other side through the bridge of this dimension whilst simultaneously having other lives.....

It's confusing for the mind to grasp.. It only feels to be this way....
I was wondering what openhands view is in a nut shell... COuld that also explain why some of us are less in the body??

The Seven Rays of Divine Impulse

Hi Teresa,

Thanks for sharing that extract of "anantomy of a soul" and asking such searching questions. I recognise parallels in it to the Openhand Approach - I would say though it does feel quite intellectual - as if it's come more through mind than direct experience - perhaps that's just the way it's written?

The reason I say this is because the way it's worded suggests that the life of a soul is somehow intended, designed, or configured. If so, by whom? Who designed it? Then who designed the designer? Like for example 'deciding' how much karma to process or how much soul to infuse.

My experience - and the Openhand Approach - is not like this. From this perspective, life happened as an inevitable consequence of pure presence (the Absolute). Pure Presence had two possibilities - to stay as it was/is, or to sub-divide into parts of presence. When you contemplate it deeply, these are the two possibilities that could happen. And given infinite time - because there was no time - then it was/is inevitable that both possibilities would happen. So it was inevitable that pure presence would sub-divide with no intention by anything or anyone necessary. It just happened.

This sub-division creates consciousness. Consciousness is simply awareness of a difference - between "this" and "that" for example. The bigbang happened from this sub-division - we know it because we can still see it in space time continuum (truly sentient people can also feel it still). What happened was a big flow outwards of what we call at Openhand "Separation Consciousness" - that which forms the physical universe.

But since all came from nothing, no-thing (pure presence), if there is a flow outwards (+1), then there must be a corresponding flow back inwards (-1) because all must add up to zero. So relativity is created from the interplay of separation consciousness and unity consciousness. This interplay creates all experience in every part of the universe.

The dynamic between the two forms of consciousness is constantly evolving. Separation Consciousness by design is exploring ever more complex forms of multiplicity. Unity Consciousness is exploring ever greater harmonious forms of Unity. But this did not happen by design. If it did, who designed it? And then who designed the designer etc etc...

So Unity Consciousness evolved until it 'formed' a soul. This formation keeps evolving, keeps happening. Now the naturally arising purpose of the soul is to infuse unity consciousness through all aspects of the universe - to bring separation - disharmony - back to balance. So soul is literally 'programmed' (naturally) to infuse.

What stops the infusion happening fully? This is where it gets identified with a particular aspect of separation consciousness. Where violence and aggression against another is experienced for example. This resistance and non-acceptance causes 'karma' to happen - a build up of contracted and dense energy. Until the soul has evolved greater realisation and acceptance of all things, it keeps getting 'stuck' in it. Karma acts as ballast bringing the soul back into density - reincarnation - until the karma is unwound.

Again there is no choice as to what karma is experienced when. If the vibrational density of a particular aspect of karma is strong, then it will play a loud 'note' like the bass drum in an orchestra - it draws the soul into it just as your attention is frequently drawn to the loudest sound. So the soul has to deal with the densest energies first after which, it can infuse into other frequencies. Again, this doesn't happen by design, it is a natural expression of the original sub-division and continual evolutionary expression.

In the Openhand Approach, the soul has no 'anatomy' as such. We recognise (through direct exploration) seven particular qualities - impulses - that are a natural consequence of the inevitable dynamic of the sub-division of presence into separation and unity consciousness. They happen because of the dynamic equilibrium that now forms the known universe. One - unity - retains the original memory of the condition of oneness and 'yearns' to find ever higher expressions of that. The other - separation retains the original memory of life experience as separation happens and 'yearns' to experience ever greater mutliplicity of that.

To us, there is no fixed anatomy, there is a continual dance, blending and infusing the various energies. Knowing these Seven Rays of Divine Impulse is of priceless help to someone on an evolutionary path. It helps explain exactly why our lives are taking the twists and turns they are. We cover it experiencially in detail on our level 2 course Way of the heart and level 3 The Transfiguration

I know I haven't answered (from the Openhand perspective) all your questions, but perhaps enough to advance the inquiry further forwards.

Very best wishes Smile

Chris

I also felt to deal with the

I also felt to deal with the subject of multi-dimensionality, individual form and being manifested in several places simultaneously which arise from the original posting.

I've often heard in spiritual writings and on weblogs that the soul can manifest in several places at once. However, I've not actually encountered anyone whose directly experienced this - here at Openhand we've done countless higher frequency meditations with pretty evolved people and no one has directly experienced this.

We have had other profound experiences which could cause one to think the soul is manifesting in multiple places simultaneously. So for example, when a soul has a strongly empathic characteristic, it is possible to feel someone else's experience as if it were our own. And since the soul is multi-dimensional, at one level, within the spirit light body, it is possible to feel other people's issues. Perhaps then, this is where the notion of multiple simultaneous incarnations has come from?

In terms of your son's delightful question about 'being in heaven' and manifesting here too, perhaps he's getting an intuitive experience of multidimensionality? - the sense of being in two or more places at once? That's certainly how I have experienced multi-dimensionality at times.
