What is meditation?

I've heard a lot recently about meditation and how beneficial it can be. What is the purpose of it? what are you trying to do?

Conscious awareness

Thanks for the question. You will probably find many definitions of what meditation is. To me it is being in conscious awareness. What do I mean by that? I mean being in complete awareness of everything that is going on for you in your body and in the surroundings. It is being in a place of still or open mind - so not lost in/deep in thought. We practice the process of stilling the mind in meditation but ultimately we take this state into our daily lives and life itself becomes a process of meditation.
