What is the nature of reality?
Is there a hidden danger in manifesting our desires?
There is much wonderful work out there at the moment exposing the illusion that we are separate from one another and from the awesome creative power of the universe. It is demonstrating that we shape and change our reality by our inner state of being. We are each like a cinema projector, creating the movie of our lives by our state of consciousness. However it seems that some teachings would also advise us to try to manifest a new more desirable reality by bringing our consciousness to it. Is this true wisdom?...
It seems to be a part of the grand design that in the journey to full spiritual enlightenment we are all tempted by the external drama, believing that in order to find true completeness we must shape our reality in some way - find a new partner to bring a deeper sense of unconditional love; a new job to bring greater security; a new house or car to build the feeling of abundance or self esteem.
Why is it that such manifestations never quite bring the fulfilment we were looking for? Oh sure they can bring a sense of satisfaction for a while but ultimately the illusionary bubble bursts and once more we head off crashing through the jungle of our tangled desires in search of some other temporary taste of fulfilment.
We keep doing this until finally, one magical day, we tire of chasing external experience all together and let go of the inner tightness the pursuit has generated. Paradoxically it is at just such a moment, when we stop trying, the real secret of our journey comes into view. The sweet taste of inner surrender liberates our soul from the seemingly endless internal chatter and it expands out of our bodyminds like a genie released from some ancient, dusty bottle...

We reconnect with the conscious life force through all things and the experience is sublime. We taste expansiveness, timelessness and the divine flavour of infinite inner peace. But this is not the end of the journey. Seemingly it doesn’t take long for our inquisitive minds to ask “what can I do with this new found spirituality?”
And herein lies the next trap for the emergent soul. It seems our natural inquisitiveness causes us to want to use the new found ‘spiritual laws’ to manifest a “better” reality, one that is more in keeping with our original desires. Just as curiosity killed the cat, a subtle inner efforting arises once more and this deceptive inner demon strangles the very life energy from us. Although we’ve realised the magical beauty of the infinite, it seems that for many, the emergent soul sinks once more into slumber. It is not until the sleeping beauty surrenders yet again, that the soul may have its splendid wedding day.
So what is the ancient message hidden in the bottle of our desires? What is the real secret?

Right action and outcome

That's a great question Angel - can we have goals and yet still be surrendered to the creative will of the universe?
The answer is a divine paradox - no AND yes!
In my experience goals arise from two different places - one from the ego and the other from the soul. If they arise from the ego it is typical that they are selfish goals tending to be based on some material outcome.
In my truth, it is just such goals that are causing the multitude of problems we see around the world from poverty and war to global warming. We continually try to shape our outer world to make up for a sense of inner lack.
To me, the goals were generated in the first place by the "matrix of mass human subconsciousness" - a tangled web of controlling thought forms and conditioned behaviours pervading the surrounding energy field.
The matrix is perpetuated by an "opposing consciousness", a design of "the grand plan" to oppose our evolution for we cannot taste the infinite expanded liberation of the soul if we have not first languished in the constriction of our desires.
It seems to me that practically the whole of humanity is currently locked into this web of illusion - even many of those who are awakening to unity consciousness.
At the same time, I sense the influence of higher guidance, designed to shatter the matrix and liberate a new way of being which is totally at one with the natural energetic order of the universe.
If we choose to, we can each play a part in that plan - to bring a new light to our evolution. We do this by first peeling back the layers of our distorted thinking based on desire and attachment.
If we do this, we begin to notice an inner "pull" to do things and if we follow, we witness miraculous synchronistic action - "right action" - supporting what we are doing.
If we allow it to unfold, this activity becomes so sublimely magical, it is a shear joy to surrender our own desires to that of higher will - just to taste the magic!

If we are following this "Way of the Heart" as we call it at Openhand, then we notice our inner most longing is totally at one with the higher plan.
At this point, "right action" becomes "right outcome" simply by walking the path of synchronistic activity that is unfolding before us.
It becomes naturally clear to us what is to be done. If we follow this pathway, we are drawing on the infinite creative power of the universe flowing unhindered through our soul.
Then we can help it take shape by aligning every thought, word, emotion and deed around this. But it is done moment by moment not by envisioning some distant goal and trying to bring it into reality...

That says it all!
Man! It is almost like it is so simple that it is never picked up by the radars of "mass human subconsciousness".
Just as leaves fall in the autumn, we must honour our natural internal changes and harmonise activities with the seasons.
Centre in your absolute authentic reality; dissolve fear doubt and worry; walk your true path in life..."Unfolding into Light"
Can you be surrendered and still have ambition and goals?
I'm at a place in my spiritual journey where I have explored surrender and the natural universal flow a great deal. Your posting resonates with me so much!
If we are wholy accepting that it is enough just to be sincerely ourselves, then is there ever again an occasion for ambition or goals? Do goals serve a purpose if we are surrendered? I still feel a very strong drive to do certain things, but I'm not sure if I might be mis-steering the course if I have my eyes set too firmly on the goal.
So far I have seen quite a few spiritual people who lose purpose or drive and just end up lazing about on the beach all day long without purpose or motivation to do anything. It makes me ask why some people can't do enough after waking up spiritually and others go completely the other way.
