"Helping reawaken our divinity, find true inner completeness
and to realign with the natural evolutionary flow of the Universe”
Why do people change after spiritual awakenings?
Why do we often seem to change after having spiritual awakening experiences? One important factor may be that we have reawakened a powerful universal energy force (also known as kundalini) within ourselves.
Awakening of kundalini energy within occurs when we surrender attachments to the materialistic plane releasing energetic blockages and repressed emotion. Our awareness literally expands beyond our usual perception, and we find that our consciousness is an infinite field that flows throughout the universe. This is when people often begin to understand through direct experience that we are all connected as one in unity consciousness.
When we become expanded and aware of the universal flow of energy we often find ourselves looking back on our life, realising that we have lived much of our it imprisoned by controlling thought patterns and mind led programmes (rather than an authentic life, as I perceive it, led by divine guiding principles).
After spiritual awakenings, it is common that we find our old patterns are no longer compatible with our evolving true selves. We often find serious unrest within when we begin to revert back to old patterns that are not in keeping with our destined pathway. Hence we often change (and sometimes radically, depending on how incompatible the life we led before is with our spiritual unfolding).
We are all unique individuals all on colourful journey's back to the truth of who we truly are. Each awakening is equally as unique and valid, no matter what may occur. Some of us awaken gently over a long period of time with lots of support, guidance and useful spiritual tools and practice, and some awaken radically overnight completely on our own (although the fun part is that we come to realise that 'aloneness' is also just an illusionary mental programme).
Personally I have experienced increasing levels of spiritual awakening, and some explosive kundalini surges, as well as near death experiences, and profound insight that initially I had no idea how to integrate. I have also experienced inbetween all of that the gentle sublteness of reconnection with the divine flow of the universe. I continue, as we all do, to unfold in every moment as an eternal student.
Thank you all for being here. It is wonderful to read the sharings, and enjoy the journey as we realign with our true selves.

Spiritual awakening is the easy part...
Yes, I have discovered many layers to awakening, which all comes as a result of having a mind and physical and emotional body (awakening our spiritual nature is actually the easy part - the difficulty comes when we try to integrate it into the lives we already lead!!!).
I 'woke up' (completely unexpectedly, out of the blue) with a full realisation of divine union and unity consciousness - then I had to retrace mysteps and begin the natural process of releasing the distortions that had bound me (emotionally, mentally and physically). Breaking free is not always easy, I agree completely. Sounds like you are exploring some helpful methods of finding yourself. Distortions come into our awareness when we are ready to release them, all we have to do is watch them with complete acceptance, walking forward into the empty space that is created for us.
I remember a few years ago feeling a deep pull to do a five day water fast to assist my spiritual unfolding. Fasting can be an excellent way to release attachments and reconnect with our authentic selves. By day three I begun experiencing major flashbacks of painful events in the past. They were flooding my system. The experience was so intense that I was forced to let them go (trying to stuff them back down into the subconcious arena from which the arose them proved virtually impossible). I begun to helplessly watch many attachments flow through me as they we release into the ether. The experience was incredibly liberating. I learnt then the value of acceptance, surrender and letting go of that which does not serve me. It is not easy, far from it, taking aan abundance of patience, and commitment. The universe has orchestrated a whole world of opportunities for us to break free from the 'shackles that bind us'.
Sounds like you are well on your way.
Blessings

Not just spiritual of course
Agreed, but let me also say we should all aim to awaken at every level of our beings. Specifically the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual levels. For each of these, we commonly lock ourselves into a single and constricted view, our "comfort zone": in the end, it's as if we build little prison cells for ourselves. We need to break out of those prison cells and reveal our true maximum potential in each level.
Breaking out is not always easy, and can seem impossible at times. External assistance can help, and I've found Rolfing deep tissue manipulation and 5Rhythms dance great at the physical level, and the Hoffman Process excellent at the emotional level, and of course Openhand at the spiritual level. Naturally, each development can be synergistic by freeing up opportunities for growth at other levels.
So, in a sense, you can have a false self at each level and each one needs to be let go of bit by bit. The beauty of a multi-level approach is that when you are stuck at one level, often progress at another will be possible and vice versa. Change can, and should, be continuous in each of our journeys, but I accept the pace can vary from imperceptible to overwhelming!
Love to all!
