Hi Everyone!
The Glastonbury Pilgrimage is nearly upon us, so here are a few tips on how to get there and finding a place to stay:
Travel:
From London: take a train from Paddington to Castle Cary then a 20 min taxi ride to Glastonbury - Do ask me if there is anyone I can buddy you up with for sharing. Go to https//www.thetrainline.com A cheaper option is a coach from Victoria coach station, a walk away from Victoria rail station.
From the North and Bristol: Coaches leave from Bristol bus station which connects well with trains and buses from the north of England and Scotland. Or take a train to Taunton, and then a bus to Glastonbury (15 min walk between train and bus stations)
Accommodation:
We suggest Air BnB for places with a more personal touch, or there is a good value Travelodge on the edge of town with parking and a bus stop outside. This year one of our Openhand regulars is offering a bedroom to rent - please ask to be put in touch.
Don't leave it too long to book, as with the Frost Fayre on, there will be competition for accommodation in the town, though you could also find somewhere in the local villages or next town called Street.
We have had people from Florida, Germany, Scotland and all over England in the past - Are you in Wales, Northern Ireland or France? - maybe this year, your time has come!
Looking forwards to seeing you there!
Tilly 🌈
