Openhand Facilitator Spotlight - Elizabeth

1) Tell us a bit about how you first resonated with the Openhand philosophy and how this may have developed over time?

I have a friend who had attended Openhand courses and told me about them. It was an immediate and strong gut feeling that motivated me to check it out for myself. I watched 5 Gateways and really appreciated the honesty and enthusiasm with which people described their experiences and it certainly 'resonated', like finding a  missing piece of a jigsaw. I attended my first Openhand course over 8 years ago and it has been a very worthwhile contributor to my journey of personal development and ever deepening understanding of myself and of life in this dimension. I also appreciate the integrity of the people involved with Openhand.

2) Why did you become an Openhand facilitator and why is this different from other training programs?

Open invited me onto one of the first Facilitator courses and it felt right to attend. Throughout my life I have been given many opportunities to listen to and assist others so to be able to put it into some kind of framework was extremely helpful. I found the training really valuable and it was different from any other programme I had previously undertaken. It widened my scope of thought, introduced me to concepts I had not previously considered and allowed space for personal processing and integration. It helped me find the confidence to set up and develop my own therapy business. (www.healingcollective.co.uk)

3) How would you describe your work and what are some of the challenges you have encountered and overcome?

Since I was a little girl, I have always had a genuine interest in helping people. I have no interest in 'fixing' or 'rescuing' although when I was younger it might have been different when that's what the ego wanted! Nowadays I do my best to act as a signpost to help people to discover their own inner knowing and connection to Universal Love, Oneness (or whatever name people prefer to call it.) I use a variety of techniques very much dicatated by my skill-base and intuition. There have been many challenges along the way including overcoming my own self doubt that I can help anyone.

4) What makes you unique as an Openhand facilitator?

Difficult question! Everyone sees the world through their own unique life experience. I have finally come to understand that, just like every person on the planet, I am the only one of me in the whole of time and space. I have reached a point in my life where my personal experiences of rejection, betrayal, bereavement, anxiety, financial challenge etc I accept and embrace as useful lessons. It is my intention to bring this experience to my facilitation practice along with being intuitive, empathetic and genuinely interested in people.

5) Tell us about an event in your life that has been deeply inspirational.

On a Hebridean island suddenly (and temporarily) being gifted with experiencing the rocks, grass, sheep as different 'energetic vibrations'. On a more regular basis, I am always deeply moved by the endless synchronicities that occur in my life.

6) How do you like expressing yourself?

Singing and writing songs. Gardening (I have helped replant the medieval gardens at Bolton Castle in the Yorkshire Dales.) Creating a home environment which is a bit quirky. Whatever inspires me.

7) What's Your Favourite Film and Why?

Local Hero because its gentle, humourous and shows many sides of human nature and one of the main characters gently finda a different way of being. It's also filmed in Scotland which holds a rich place in my heart as the scenery is lovely.

8) If you Only Had One Day to Live, How Would it Be?

With integrity, with appreciation and probably out in nature somewhere or connecting with family and  friends.

9) Is there anything else you would like to share with everyone who is reading this now?

I have had lots of challenges in this life but hope that I can continue to learn and grow through everything and deepen my understanding of myself and of life which in turn deepens my understanding of others and my life experience. I also have a good sense of humour which helps! The Healing Collective is a complementary therapy centre I set up with a colleague in 2015 in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales. It was deliberately set up there so people in a rural area, many of whom feel isolated, would not have to travel far for help. I work with people of all ages and backgrounds using Openhand techniques alongside my other therapies (I am qualified in Reiki, Bach Flower Remedies and Emotional Freedom Techniques.) I am also qualified to treat animals which I also see as Consciousness expressed in physical form. I trust that whoever needs to find me will do so and also trust this Universe that everything is unfolding as it should. Our problems and challenges are there to show us where we need to heal and grow. (Not always easy though!)

My song for you All - "Number One"

Oh - there is one more thing I'd like to share with you all - this little song called "Number One" that I wrote some 40 years ago!...

Number One

If you wish to connect with me and share what's happening for you in your journey right now, do feel free to contact me. There will always be a welcoming space!

Indeed! I just logged in and what a delight to see Elizabeth's facilitator spotlight! Makes my day :)

I second all of what you have shared Open. Elizabeth's groundness is a loving holding space where everyone is met and her lived wisdom is priceless. Compassion is flowing through her beingness and she has a strong core to support people through anything that comes up for them. It was such an honour to work with you on the last Divinicus retreat Elizabeth and its fantastic you will be joining as a facilitator in May in Devon. People will be held and supported to be themselves and to go deep! This is IT!

Im also in love with your voice Elizabeth - can we have more!?  eh?......  ;)

With Number One Love <3

Elizabeth - what a pleasure it is to see your Facilitator Spotlight here. What can I say?

Well, what I absolutely love about your energy and approach is its 'down-to-earthness', the reality, authenticity and integrity. The beyond glamour 'tell it how it is'. Awesome!

In the facilitator training, I was always greatly intrigued how you took the guidance and explorations and did it completely in your own unique way. It taught me a lot! Which I then embodied in the Openhand approach - so thankyou!

Finally, you do hide your light under a bushel! Such a wonderful voice! And a great song - thankyou so much for sharing it with us all - I'll definitely be catching you on video at the next possible event. Wink Emoji

Much love always
