They're poignant questions for sure. But let me ask you this: would you deny anyone the journey of Enlightenment into an immortal soul?

How does one attain such a state?

It only happens by embracing the situations where the soul becomes attached. Still, for example, many souls, including awakened ones, go into non-acceptance when something disastrous happens, like cancer (to quote the example you used).

To my mind cancer happens because the being is not at one with the soul - which creates disharmony, dissonance and breakdown.

The only way through this is to forge soul by accepting the conditions we've created. It's exactly why I wrote the Book ABSOLUTION (remastered version released today).

When all souls have processed out their karma, throughout the Universe, then we'll attain Niravana, where all suffering ceases.

However, there is still quite a journey to get there!
