"The Fountain" was to me quite an obtuse film rich in superlative spiritual metaphor. It seems to tell the tale of several incarnations of two soul mates. It shows how the choices we make lead to suffering but that through self realisation over countless lifetimes can 'correct' those mistakes and lead to eternal life. At least that's my take on it!
