I do agree with you that the soul can and does often connect at the forming zygote stage. It can actually connect with the mother even before conception - I've heard several first-hand accounts of that happening. Where for example the incoming soul came to the mother even before conception.

It happens to be my view that the mother's soul holds energetic responsibility for the developing fetus though, until eventual handover at birth - again, first-hand accounts eloquently describe the shift of energies that take place at birth. I think what we can say and agree on, is that both souls are intimately connected - in a similar way to which you experienced "taking a back seat" until your soul exchange. Fascinating indeed!!
