Steve Jobs: Finding your Passion

Submitted by Open on Tue, 12/08/2015 - 06:22

I watched the Steve Jobs movie recently. Have you seen it? In many ways, he doesn't come across that well in it - intense, uncaring to those around him, confrontational and self-serving (although of course we can never know the real person from someone else's perspective). No doubt though, there was a brilliance to him, a 'genius', who believed in what hid did, because he'd truly searched and found his real passion in life. One he was prepared to die for. So maybe there's something we can learn from his life and his stories, that speak of the passion of the soul, and the importance of following that calling?...

You have to believe in the journey of you. That you're constantly working toward the greatest vision of what you can be, as a being. When you find this passion, it will pull you, draw you to it, like a light. Even when it's terribly dark, heavy and you're caught up in the density, where is seems everything is going wrong and nothing makes sense, when it seems all are against you, even, and especially then, the eternal light pulls you through. So perhaps the best thing you can do in life, is see the vision of that light, of all you can be, and let it draw you. Don't worry about how the dots will connect in your future, you'll only know that as you look behind you, and see them clicking into place, with each step. So find your life's passion, your light, and keep aiming for it, in the path that presents itself.

If today were the last day of your life, how would you choose to live it?

In loving support

Wise words Erica *OK*
Thanks for that quote Steve.

Yes the truth is there isn't it? And it articulates through us when we find the soul connection back to the source.

I believe lots of people who have become noteworthy had some deep connection to at least one aspect of soul, and they rode that in the things they did.

Clearly from his parting words, Steve didn't believe in anything beyond, or that he would even live on, but at least he found and expressed some key aspects of his soul which I personally found inspirational.

Exploring this deeper.. The thought I expressed that in being authentic I expressed using Steve Job's words.
It appears that at every single layer of consciousness there are common dialogues, themes, ideas that link or bond together. At this moment an association occurs.

The less restricted, conditioned, or influenced one becomes, these universal truths ripple through consciousness that allows a new set of reference points to form. The construct forever changes as each second is warped by reactions, stimulated by emotions, defined by thoughts, manifested by movements. At some point all the superficial materiality physicality just falls away or dissolves.

Coming from a new set of reference points it's like seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, feeling for the first time. Heightening the senses allows moments in this form to be savored as passion blooms an endless garden is created as the invisible backdrop.

These words I write to encapsulate a thought have been circulating, vibrating for eons. As new as it initially feels at times, I know it's all timeless.. these concepts that break the surface and are expressed through Steve Jobs, Gandhi or the homeless man on the street corner are timeless... Pure, simple timeless for eons

May his last words reach as many people as possible <3

I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world.
In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.
However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.
At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.
In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer…
Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth…
Should be something that is more important:
Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days ...
Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.
God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.
The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me.
What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.
That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.
Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.
What is the most expensive bed in the world? - "Sick bed" …
You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.
Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost – "Life".
When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading – "Book of Healthy Life".
Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.
Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends...
Treat yourself well. Cherish others.

"Don't let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

This quote was shared with me a few years back. It really gave me strength at a time when I felt lost.

To answer the question if this were the last day of my life... I would savor it whilst in this form just being as I am.. hopefully leaving a lasting impression in some way. There are so many opportunities to live with passion in the simplest of ways and equally allowing this life to leave it's simple lasting impression upon me.

Much love... "Your time is limited so don't waste it living someone else's life." Quite comedic that I used that quote to make a statement about being authentic with some one else's words. Ahhhhhhhh I just love it all.
