The desert where I dwell.(Short story)

I felt this heat on my face and slowly opened my eyes to the bright open sky, where the sun was shining brightly. It was strange, I could feel sand on my palms. I slowly rose to my feet and gazed around in awe. I'm awake in a desert, where all I could see were vast sand mountains and desert wind.

I can’t remember anything. I can’t even remember my name. What actually happened? Where am I? Why am I here? There were these thousand questions arising. Above all, I needed to get some water.

I continued my journey through the nothingness, hoping to find something. Each step forward brought on more and more pain. I struggled, really struggled, to see anything other than the sand and to feel anything other than the desert wind.

After a while, I came to a halt and asked myself, “If you don't know where you belong” So, where do you really want to go? I sat down in the sand. Perhaps this is my home; I have nowhere to go and nothing to find.

Like the rattlesnake I saw on the way, I made a sand home for myself. The sun was about to go down. And the desert wind embraced me with a cold hug.

I am the sand, I am the desert wind, and I am the desert itself.
